Phil Taylor rents property to Robbie Williams' dad and makes Christmas gesture
Phil Taylor has revealed that he brings Christmas dinner to Robbie Williams' father and spends time speaking with him on Christmas Day.
The Power will retire from professional darts after next year's World Senior Darts Tour. Before his final run on the circuit though, Taylor will be kept busy with a full house in his hometown of Stoke-on-Trent over the festive period.
He will also be keeping a close eye on Pete Williams, the elderly father of pop superstar Robbie. The singer is currently on tour and is a close friend of Taylor's, who he trusts to look after his 72-year-old father.
Williams Snr has Parkinson's and had a fall back in February, breaking a bone in his spine. He does have a very supportive neighbour in Taylor, who he also rents his bungalow from.
The darts legend has now revealed he sends Williams Jnr regular updates on his dad. And he also opened up on his plans to make sure the 72-year-old does not feel alone over the Christmas period.
Emmanuel Petit makes damning Mykhaylo Mudryk claim after Arsenal U-turn"I’ll give him a text in the week because I want an update on his dad because his dads not very well. He lives in one of my bungalows. So, I’ll just give a little update on his dad, just to keep him informed really," Taylor told OBLG.

“We have, Karen's [his wife’s] son comes to stay with us. He comes every year and stays with us over the Christmas period and her dad normally comes too. I've lost my parents now, but Karen's dad and brother come up.
“We have a family friend, who is on his own, he comes to have Christmas dinner with as well so he’s not on his own. Then I’ll go down to Pete’s [Williams] and take him some dinner down to the bungalow which I rent to him and have a couple of hours with him.
"He isn’t too well you see, so I like to check in on him and spend time with him. I'll go down and have a chat with him and watch a bit of TV with him and talk about sh*** basically. Then I’ll say I’ll see you tomorrow on Boxing Day.”
Taylor also revealed that it is wife Karen who takes charge of cooking the famous Christmas dinner. Instead, The Power takes time out to practice his darts, something he may be doing for the final time this year.
"We normally have a Christmas dinner, a normal dinner if you know what I mean. I’m not really particular, anything will do me. A Turkey sandwich will do me, I’m not bothered. Karen does all the cooking. She says, ‘get out of my kitchen’. I can't touch the cooker," he added.
"Well, I'll cook now and again. But I’m not really allowed in the kitchen very often. I bring the money in. That’s about it really. I do a lot of practicing. I’ll still go and have a little practice on Christmas Day. Because I’ve got the seniors coming up in February."
