Travis Kelce makes travel decision as he plans Taylor Swift's surprise party
NFL star Travis Kelce decided not to jet to New York on his day off - but he's got a surprise birthday bash planned for his pop superstar girlfriend Taylor Swift.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is organising the party after Swift's private jet was spotted leaving Kansas City, where she'd been watching the Chiefs' game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night. Despite rumours that she was heading back to New York for the TIME Person of the Year gala, Swift - who was announced as this year's winner - didn't show up at the event.
Now, it seems she might be in for a surprise celebration from Kelce, according to reports. The Daily Mail suggests that the All-Pro star has arranged a party for Swift after he finishes Chiefs practice.
There's even talk that Kelce might pop the question to Swift amidst their fast-paced romance. After the Chiefs' 20-17 defeat to the Bills, the lovebirds were snapped cuddling and Swift was seen planting a kiss on Kelce's cheek at an afterparty.

Kelce usually spends his NFL off-days recording his 'New Heights' podcast with his brother Jason, so it perhaps makes sense that he didn't accompany Swift back to New York. The pair have been spotted in the Big Apple before, even making an unexpected appearance on Saturday Night Live and dining at the Waverley Inn last October.
In her recent chat with TIME, Swift gave us a peek into her relationship with Kelce. She expressed her confusion over how NFL broadcasts always seem to know where she is, saying: "I don't know how they know what suite I'm in," and "There's a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don't know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don't know if I'm being shown 17 times or once."
She also joked about possibly annoying some viewers, stating: "I'm just there to support Travis. I have no awareness of if I'm being shown too much and p****** off a few dads, Brads, and Chads."
Swift also shared her newfound love for football, exclaiming: "Football is awesome, it turns out. I've been missing out my whole life."
Kelce and Swift were left gutted after the Bills game at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. After catching a pass from Patrick Mahomes, the 34 year old pulled off an amazing, spur-of-the-moment lateral pass to Kadarius Toney, who dashed into the end zone to score a go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter.
Sadly, the brilliant play was heartbreakingly ruled out for offside as Toney didn't check his position with officials. The Chiefs then lost the game, slipping to 8-5 while their lead atop the AFC West is just one game over the Denver Broncos.
This loss also means the Chiefs have lost their last two games with Swift watching on after the Green Bay Packers beat them at Lambeau Field last week. The Chiefs face the 3-10 New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in Week 15.
