Ella Toone is no stranger to making waves on the pitch - now the Manchester United ace is playing a starring role off it as well in JD Sports' new Christmas campaign.

The 24-year-old features in the retailer’s Christmas ad 'Forever Forward' alongside rappers Kano and Central Cee. Toone, who can be seen sporting some of Nike's essential wear available this festive season, is taking part to celebrate JD's iconic drawstring duffle bag hitting its 25th anniversary.

The advert is soundtracked to the timeless classic hit ‘Sweet Harmony’ and follows on from last year's exciting ad which featured a host of football's biggest stars, such as Liverpool duo Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgin van Dijk, and former world champion boxer Anthony Joshua.

Toone was on target as United thrashed Tottenham on Sunday, with Melvine Malard's brace and Hayley Ladd's effort completing a 4-0 win. The victory moved the Red Devils to four points of the Women's Super League summit.

"We've got a lot of squad depth now, so we can rotate the front three in particular," Toone told Live Score. "We've got some unbelievable players. But it's all about connecting on the pitch and I think we showed that at Spurs.

"The league is getting tougher and tougher, the games are much harder. So we know we have to stick together as a group, trust each other to go and put in performances like we did at Spurs.

"And sometimes you don't always win the way you want to. Spurs made it difficult for us but we stuck at it and got our goals. It shows great character because even when we don't play 100% the way we want to, we still get the win."
