The Radford family have been forced to hire a trained counsellor to help end a family feud that threatens to derail Christmas.

The reality show family - who are famous for being the biggest family in the UK as husband and wife duo Sue and Noel Bradford have 22 children together - have been on edge for 18 months after two family members spectacularly fell out. Daughter Chloe, 28, and son Luke, 23 fell out over a shelf of frozen pastry pies at the family’s bakery - which sparked an almighty argument.

Both children have openly admitted that they can be strong willed, and both have refused to back down meaning the argument has not been forgiven and the siblings are still at loggerheads. Now concerned parents Sue, 48, and Noel, 52, have had to go to extreme lengths to try to reconcile the kids and save Christmas. The famous parents have hired a trained intervention counsellor to come into their 10-bedroom family home in Morecambe in the hope of finally getting the brother and siste back on speaking terms.

Sue admits: “To see them not speaking has been really, really hard. Especially as when we look back over the years and see how close Luke and Chloe were. But they are both very strong willed and stubborn.”

Noel added: “The longer it goes on, the harder it gets. There has been no backing down first. It’s not nice to see them not talking to each other.” Fans of the Radfords will be able to see the drama unfold - and discover if the counsellor is able to repair the relationship, as cameras have continued to follow the family for a Christmas special of their hit she 22 Kids and Counting.

Christmas is a major operation for Sue and Noel as they try to make the festive celebration a merry occasion for their ginormous family - which continues to grow as they welcomed grandchildren into the fold. The duo are parents to Chloe and Luke along with Chris, 34, Sophie, 29, Jack, 26, Daniel, 24, Millie, 22, Katie, 21, James, 20, Ellie, 18, Aimee, 17, Josh, 16, Max, 14, Tillie, 13, Oscar, 12, Casper, 11, Hallie, eight, Phoebe, seven, Archie, six, Bonnie, Five and Heidie, three.

Preparing Christmas for such a huge brood takes weeks - with Sue explaining why she has to start getting ready in October. She said: “We have a lot of birthdays in October. And so, I usually wait until the last birthday in October which is the 22nd, and then it is a mad rush to get everything organised after then.”

Despite having many mouths to feed, the couple are able to buy Christmas dinner for less than £500. During the day, they get through two turkeys, 60 pigs in blankets, 3kg of Brussel sprouts, 7.5kg of potatoes, 4kg carrots, and 60 Yorkshire puddings. It is washed down by 16 litres of fizzy drink, two bottles of cream liqueur, four Christmas puddings, 48 mince pies and one yule log as well as two tubs of family chocolates.

Sue is also busy buying up gifts for all the kids too. She said: “As you can imagine, organising gifts for so many children is a real task in itself when you have the food shopping as well and you feel there are not enough hours in the day. But I try to do a block for one set of children, and then the next and the next, otherwise it would get crazy.”

The 22 And Counting Christmas Special will air on Channel 5 on Sunday 17 December 2023 at 8pm.
