Strictly's Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman wow fans with contrasting dresses

Strictly hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman brought the glamour to the semi-final - with fans pointing out a coincidence in their colour decisions.

Both presenters looked stunning as they kicked off the penultimate show of the 2023 series. Tess, 54, and Claudia, 51, returned to the Strictly Come Dancing dancefloor on Saturday night to host another round of dances, glamour and sequins. The remaining celebrities have battled it out to stay in the BBC dance competition and are in touching distance of the Glitterball trophy.

Tess looked gorgeous in a hot pink midi dress featuring an off-the-shoulder neckline paired with light pink heels. She kept her blonde locks pin-straight and wore shimmery eyeshadow. Co-star Claudia also wowed in a black puffed sleeve mini dress with contrasting white heels and kept her hair in loose waves. Fans took to X - formerly known as Twitter - where they went wild over their outfits.

One fan said: "Tess looks stunning tonight #Strictly." Another added: "Tess always looks stunning." Someone else wrote: "Claudia looks beautiful." A fourth pointed out: "Tess has come as #Barbie and Claudia as #Oppenheimer," in reference to the two hit films released over the summer. A viewer echoed: "Tess and Claudia going full Barbenheimer." Another said: "Tess and Claudia have finally given us Barbenheimer."

All celebrities were given a pass into the semi-finals after actor Nigel Harmen sustained an injury which meant he had to completely drop out of the popular dancing competition. Last week was musicals week with couples dancing to the likes of Beauty and The Beast, Dirty Dancing and Moulin Rouge.

However, this weekend there is no special theme but the pressure is on to fight to be part of the 2023 Strictly final. The celebrities have to perform two dances, offering them two chances to impress the judges. EastEnders actor Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell will perform the Paso Doble and the Quickstep.

Tennis star Annabel Croft and Johannes Radebe will Salsa to You'll Be Mine by Gloria Estefan, and perform a Viennese Waltz as well. Former soap actress Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola will perform the Cha-Cha and a Couples' Choice dance. While Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin will dance a Rumba and the Charleston.

Whoever makes it through to the final next weekend is certainly in for a treat as BBC bosses have reportedly booked Cher to perform. Taking place on December 16, the music legend is set to sing new track DJ Play A Christmas Song from her new festive album when this year’s finalists take to the dancefloor for the very last time.

The 77-year-old will be hoping to land her very first Christmas Number One. Before recording new album, Cher Christmas, the star hadn’t put out any new music for five years, but now she seems to be on a roll. Cher was a recent guest on the BBC’s The Graham Norton Show and will sit down with Rylan Clark for a special Cher Meets Rylan interview to celebrate the pop icon, which will air on BBC Two at 9pm December 9.

Ahead of their chat, Rylan said: “I’m rarely speechless, but being asked to interview actual Cher did the trick. What an honour to sit down and chat to the Goddess of Pop. I can’t wait to meet her.” Just three celebrities will make it through to the final, where Cher could also be putting on a performance.
