Liverpool will look to build on their midweek win against Sheffield United as they face another away fixture on Saturday against Crystal Palace.

The Reds have now won three of their last four matches as they keep up the pressure on league leaders Arsenal in what is shaping up to be a fascinating title race. They face a Palace side whose form has slipped in recent weeks, with three defeats in their past four matches and no wins seeing them drop to 14th in the table.

Liverpool ’s strong season so far has raised hopes for Jurgen Klopp ’s side, who went trophyless in 2022/23 and underwent a summer overhaul to bounce back impressively. They are now just two points behind Arsenal, with defending champions Man City now six points behind the leaders, four behind Liverpool.

Despite their most memorable visit to Selhurst Park being a Liverpool have a strong record away to Palace. They won seven times in a row at the home of the Eagles between 2016-2022 before a 0-0 draw on their last visit to South London in February this year.

Team news

Crystal Palace have been hampered recently by the absences of Eberechi Eze and Cheick Doucoure, who miss out once again. The midweek action also saw yet another key player’s fitness come into doubt as Tyrick Mitchell was withdrawn from the Bournemouth loss.

Liverpool’s injury list is also extensive, with Thiago Alcantara, Andy Robertson, Stefan Bajcetic, Diogo Jota and Alisson all long-term absentees. They have been joined by Joel Matip, with the central defender having suffered a likely season-ending ruptured ACL.
