I'm A Celeb's Nigel Farage in tears as he reunites with emotional daughter
Nigel Farage had an emotional reunion with his daughter on Friday's episode of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here, after being disconnected from his loved ones for three full weeks.
The former UKIP leader was surprised by Isabelle Farage, the second youngest of his four children, on the gritty ITV reality series tonight. Before entering the camp to meet her controversial father, the 18-year-old revealed she is "incredibly proud" of how far he's come in the competition.
"I did not expect him to do this well," she said. "All of the family have been watching every single night, we’ve loved watching it. Even the arguments because that’s who he is, that’s what he’s like. But I just can’t wait to see him now."
Farage, 57, was visibly stunned to see Isabelle when he walked around the corner, exclaiming, "Hello!" as his first interaction with his daughter in weeks. "I don’t believe it! How are you, love?" Isabelle, who has previously admitted she doesn't share the Brexit campaigner's political views, then broke down in tears.
"What’s the matter?" Farage asked, to which she replied, "Just happy to see you." Beaming, Farage replied, "Happy to see you, darling… Wow, what a shock. Didn’t expect this at all!" He then admitted to her he'd had "a few political arguments" with the other I'm A Celebrity contestants but that he hadn't "started any of them." She then quipped, "That’s nice for a once, nice change," before reassuring him, "Everyone’s good, everyone sends their love."
TOWIE's Chloe Brockett makes cheeky dig at Saffron Lempriere during filmingViewers were quick to react to the reunion, with many taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts. "The whole Nigel Farage - daughter meeting made me shed a tear, simply beautiful..." one person wrote, while another said, "What a daddy-daughter moment." A third commended Farage for his calm reaction to Isabelle's tears, writing," That’s how a parent should react when seeing his child, comforting but not hysterical." Not everyone saw the reunion as so precious, however, with one person calling it "weird." It's understood that Farage would have two options with either his girlfriend Laure Ferrari or his daughter Izzy going into camp to spend time with him.
Meanwhile, Martin Humes also had a shocked yet delighted reaction to being joined in the jungle by his wife of 11 years, Rochelle. "When I get out of here, I'm just going to hold you like this for hours," he told the Saturdays singer as he hugged her close to his chest. Tony Bellew was also deeply moved by his surprise visitor, who turned out be his wife Rachael. "It's the longest we've been apart without contact," he told viewers. "This will stick with me more than any moment I've had in the jungle."
As for Josie Gibson, the This Morning star was greeted by her best mate Mia Williams, while Sam Thompson had an exciting reunion with BFF Pete Wicks.
"Getting the loved ones into camp as a surprise always makes for great footage," a source explained. "The letters from home are emotional but seeing them reunited is even better."
