Paris Hilton's ex Chris Zylka finally shares real reason for failed engagement

Paris Hilton's ex-fiancé Chris Zylka has spoken about their relationship, five years after their break-up, with him having described the socialite as "wonderful" and "full of love".

Chris, now 38, and Paris, now 42, are understood to have previously been in a relationship for around two years. They got engaged in 2017 but it was reported just months later that they had called off their engagement and split up.

The actor - who's known for his roles in projects like HBO's the Leftovers - opened up about the relationship whilst on a podcast recently. He was complimentary about Paris and shared that he now misses spending time with her family.

"Just like full of love and full of effort and full of like work. She's non-stop," he said. Chris added on the newly-released episode of the podcast: "I look back at a lot of relationships [and] I cannot tell you one bad thing about Paris."

He said that it "warms his heart" that Paris is now a parent and has enjoyed continued success in her career. She now has two children with her husband Carter Reum, whom she's been married to since their wedding back in 2021.

Chris said: "I've never been able to apologise to her for just like, not being grateful for the experience and like all that she did for me. She's the one relationship that I've ever had that there was no take, it was all give. [...] It was really lovely."

He suggested that deciding to focus on his acting career was a factor in the end of their relationship, saying: "My work was just really important to me." He said: "[I] chose her over work [during the relationship]. I don't regret it [though]."

Chris said on the podcast that he misses getting to "hang out" with some of her relatives now that they are no longer together. He commented: "I miss her family. I miss her mom and dad and her brothers and sister. Like I miss that."

Whilst discussing Paris on the podcast, he said: "I'm not supposed to say anything [because] when we did finalize everything and break-up [...] I did like sign an NDA saying that I won't write a book or say anything like that, but there was really never anything negative that I could say."

Chris - whose acting credits also include The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) - assured about her: "I have nothing bad to say, and anyone that does have anything bad to say about her, is probably a bad person, to be honest with you."
