Ten Hag in ruthless Man Utd transfer call as Keane slams biggest disappointment
Manchester United got back on track with a much-needed win over Chelsea on Wednesday night, but another test lies around the corner.
Scott McTominay was the star, scoring twice at Old Trafford to banish the blues from the 1-0 defeat by Newcastle. United will now take on in-form Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday ahead of a crucial must-win Champions League tie against Bayern Munich in midweek.
Erik ten Hag has relieved the pressure for now, but with Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s takeover in the pipeline, he knows more questions will come. The January transfer window offers a potential solution, but with financial fair play to consider, it won’t solve all his problems. With that in mind, here are the latest headlines from Mirror Football.
Ten Hag transfer lists three stars
Casemiro, Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho have been put up for sale in the January transfer window as United try to raise funds for reinforcements. The trio are among the highest earners in the squad and Ten Hag is ready to try and move them on, according to the Independent.
Sancho has been exiled from the first-team squad after falling out with Ten Hag, while Casemiro and Varane have struggled for consistency following big-money moves from Real Madrid. The trio cost the club £170million in transfer fees and Ten Hag is keen to sell in order to reinvest the money in younger players who suit his system.

Keane and Carragher slam Onana
Andre Onana has been labelled as the biggest disappointment in the Premier League this season by both Roy Keane and Jamie Carragher. Onana was signed for £47m in the summer from Inter Milan but has struggled for consistency so far.
"The biggest disappointments in the Premier League so far this season would be the two goalkeepers at Manchester United and Arsenal [Andre Onana and David Raya]," Carragher said on the Overlap's Stick to Football podcast. "They’ve been quite poor after coming in as 'improvements' from the previous keepers, and it’s almost stayed the same or even gone backwards with them coming in."
United legend Keane added: "The biggest disappointment has to be Andre Onana. I think Manchester United were right to get rid of David de Gea, but for the club to have brought someone else in and for him to be struggling."

‘Something wrong’ with Varane
Patrice Evra believes something is worrying at Manchester United with Raphael Varane. The defender has not started since the 1-0 win over Copenhagen on October 24 and was an unused substitute at Newcastle, with Ten Hag preferring to field Luke Shaw in central defence.
He missed the Chelsea game with a sore back, but former United left-back Evra thinks there must be something else going on behind the scenes. “Something is wrong. Luke Shaw, no matter if he plays good or bad, I don't want to see him at centre-back,” Evra told Prime Video.
“He's a left-back. when you play for a club like Manchester United and have defenders like Lindelof, Maguire, and Varane, and you still have to use Luke Shaw at centre-back, there's something wrong.”
