Lauren Harries' mum has given a health update on the star after her seven month hospital stay and brain surgery.

The former Big Brother star went to hospital after needing an emergency brain surgery in April due to experiencing terrible headaches and blackouts. However, it looks like she is out of the woods as her mum has said that the 45-year-old has been discharged by doctors in time for a family Christmas.

Due to the operation being so serious, the celebrity had to be put in an induced coma afterwards to allow her body to recover properly. Lauren's mum Katy took to X with a statement, saying: "Update: Laurens out of hospital. It's been the most stressful 7 months of our families lives. But she's home in time for Christmas.

"Note from Lauren: 'It's wonderful not seeing the worry on my family's faces anymore, merry Christmas thank you to all of my stars for your love." Fans of the star flooded the comments with well wishes, with one saying: "Brilliant news for you all. Hope you have a relaxing and lovely Christmas."

"Great to hear this, I hope things only get better for Lauren from now on," another said, with a third adding: "Great news! Have a wonderful Christmas." Back in July it was revealed that the TV personality underwent another emergency surgery as a previous "painful" spinal surgery to amend a split in her spine was deemed "unsuccessful".

At the time Lauren shared a video on her social media page where she thanked her fans for all of their support during the difficult time. In a her usual glamorous style, Lauren wore a Louis Vuitton scarf around her head and oversized sunglasses as she addressed her followers.

"Hello everyone, It's been a long time since I was on here. I just wanted to say hello to everyone and thank you so much for all your support, for all of your love, I don't know what I would do without it," she said. "You're all my angels and you are all my stars, I just wanted to say a big hello and a big surprise to you all and I think of you everyday and your support is what keeps me going."

Lauren added: "I love you, your my sweetheart, your my angels, your my stars, your the sun in the sky, your the stars that shine, your beautiful and I love you." She blew a kiss at the camera and revealed: "Well I'm still in the hospital and I'm just enjoying a bit of time with my brother Adam.

"It's been three and a half months now, but I've always said It's the best time to be positive and to love life. I love you all. Speak to you very soon."
