Nick Packard flashed a winning smile as he was reunited with his girlfriend - after losing out on winning I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The 48-year-old Hollyoaks star became the fourth contestant to be voted off the long-running ITV show on Wednesday night - as he failed to win votes against fellow contestant Josie Gibson, 38. The TV star didn’t look too bothered about missing out on the jungle crown, however, as he was at last able to reunite with his girlfriend Sarah Corrin - and the pair were all smiles as they headed off to their hotel room together.

Both Nick and Sarah looked like the cats who got the cream as they arrived to relax together after the soap star endured over two weeks of trials, basic rations, and camp life with Nigel Farage, 59. Arriving at their hotel, Nick looked relaxed and happy while Sarah put a loving arm around him and flashed a beaming smile of her own.

Arriving at the hotel, friends, family and ITV crew cheered loudly for the soap star as he walked into the hotel hand-in-hand with his girlfriend. Inside he was reunited with former contestants including Fred Sirieix and Frankie Dettori. Speaking to reporters as he arrived, Nick said: "I’m knackered. Hungry. All the usual things."

After exiting the show, Nick admitted that the thing that scared him most about being in the jungle was the fact there was very little to eat. He said: “The hunger, without a doubt, is the scariest thing. That’s what I was most worried about, the not eating, so what I’d been trying to do was intermittent fasting - in preparation.”

He added: “And I had been trying not to eat before 12pm - it’s really hard.” Nick also made sure he was acclimatised to the infamous rice and beans staple diet. “I had a bowl of rice the other night and it was really rubbish, and that was just plain rice!,” he said. “I was like ‘Oh my God’ if I’ve got to live off this for at least two weeks, I’m in trouble!”

But having no food certainly had an upside - as Nick said he was glad to lose a bit of weight in advance of Christmas. He said: “It’s the experience of a lifetime, and obviously you want to go in and do well and you want the public to like you, but the best part about it is you’re going to lose weight,” the dad-of-one explained. “Especially before Christmas as well. It’s quite nice you know what I mean! I’ll come out and have the best Christmas, I’ll probably put it all back on straight after.”

Sarah had loyally been waiting for Nick to emerge from the camp so they could be together again. She even batted for the soap star while he was cut off from the outside world - denying accusations he had a game plan to win the show.

Speaking on Lorraine Kelly's show Lorraine on Tuesday, she admitted viewers had yet to see the real him, in that he hasn't shown his full self. As Lorraine questioned whether this could be down to lack of screen time amid other big personalities featuring in drama, Sarah revealed Nick likely did a lot behind the scenes.

Sarah then mentioned she had seen comments about Nick "playing a game", and that his nice nature and him not being caught up in drama could be "his game". Slamming the speculation, she told 64-year-old Lorraine: "What you are seeing of him is him, but we haven’t seen all of him, the full him. He's absolutely not [playing a game] he’s being completely himself. He will be getting on with everything behind the scenes, he will be getting on and having a good laugh."

The population of the I'm A Celeb jungle is dwindling as more and more celebs are voted off - and after original stars Grace Dent and Jamie Lynn Spears quit the show early. Farage and Josie remain in the camp alongside boxer Tony Bellew, Made In Chelsea star Sam Thomas, EastEnders actress Danielle Harold and JLS star Marvin Humes.
