Queen Camilla has given her stamp of approval to Anne Robinson dating her ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles, according to inside reports.

The former Weakest Link presenter has been secretly dating the former spouse of the Queen for a year but has been determined to fly under the radar to avoid media hysteria for as long as possible. Anne, 79, reportedly met Andrew, 83, through a mutual friend, and despite their differing upbringings, quickly hit it off. Andrew, who used to be in the military, has also swooned the TV presenter with his culinary talents, according to sources.

"Annie remains fiercely independent and while she has staff, who regularly whip up meals for the pair, she's been impressed with Andrew's own cooking skills. The Brigadier and the Queen of Mean does have a certain ring to it — but there's no chance of them living together as she's far too self-sufficient," an insider told the Sun.

Anne has been married twice before; former Times editor Charles Wilson from 1968 to 1973 and John Penrose, also a journalist, from 1980 to 2007. She and her second husband split after 27 years on the grounds of irreconcilable differences and amicably reached a settlement on all financial issues.

Anne has previously shared her opinion of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, telling the Guardian that she doesn't sympathise with the couple "a lot" but believes that their criticism of the monarchy could also bring about positive change.

"Although ironically, I do think their complaint about someone within the royal family worrying about their baby’s skin colour – true or not – did actually bring about some change. It’s improved diversity and attitudes within the palace staff," she said.

Anne also suggested that the Palace shouldn't respond to the Sussex couple's claims during an interview on GB News last year, saying: "What the Palace need to do is just keep quiet, just let them run out of steam."

As for Anne's relationship with Andrew, it's understood that the pair "get on splendidly" despite the fact they come from completely different backgrounds.

“Annie proudly tells everyone she is the daughter of a market trader chicken-seller and is as far removed from a toff as could be — frankly it beats any storyline The Crown could possibly come up with," the source added. "She makes him laugh, a lot, and he is one of the few people to get away with poking fun at her."
