Brock Lesnar's daughter follows in dad's footsteps with new sporting record

Brock Lesnar's daughter has followed in her father's footsteps by breaking a college record for shot put.

UFC and WWE legend Lesnar was a talented wrestler and American football player whilst at high school. He received a scholarship to wrestle at the University of Minnesota and eventually captured an NCAA Division I championship, one of the most prestigious awards in collegiate wrestling.

Lesnar continued to dominate on the mats whilst in college and finished with an overall record of 106–5. His daughter Mya, a junior in high school, is now living up to the family name as she broke the shot put record at Colorado State with an 18.50m throw. The previous school record was 17.55 meters.

Mya's first two attempts of the competition landed in the 16-meter range to put her in first place but she then fouled her attempts in the third and fourth rounds. Mya then impressively shattered the record on her sixth attempt, beating her tournament competition by nearly 3 meters. "18.50m. A new PR and a new school record! Happy with a strong start to my season," she wrote on Instagram.

Lesnar made his WWE debut over 20 years ago on an episode of Raw and has since become a seven-time world champion for the organisation. The superstar made his MMA debut in 2007 and won the UFC heavyweight title after just two fights for the promotion, knocking out fellow legend Randy Couture.

Following two defences of his world title against Shane Carwin and Frank Mir, Lesnar lost the belt against Cain Velasquez. He battled with a bout of diverticulitis that made him take five years away from the cage, only to test positive for banned substances after his win against Mark Hunt at UFC 200.
