The next instalment of the hit drama True Detective is finally just weeks away. The crime anthology series will return in the new year for its fourth season with an all-new cast.

Each season of the original drama series follows a different narrative, led by new characters in separate locations. Its first season – starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson – was released to universal acclaim, though its follow-ups were less warmly received.

The previous seasons have taken place in Louisiana, California and the Missouri Ozarks, while its next season set in the place best suited for a winter premiere, Alaska. Titled True Detective: Night Country, the upcoming season marks the first without creator Nic Pizzolatto as showrunner or writer, who now serves as executive producer.
