Ivanka's changing faces as she distances from dad with 'contradictory cosplay'
In recent weeks former first daughter Ivanka Trump has been seen showing off a myriad of different looks, with one body language expert saying she's cosplaying different roles in what seems to be an attempt to put space between herself and her time in politics during dad Donald's time in the White House.
From rodeo Barbie to rock chick, Ivanka has been seen sporting many different styles lately. She was recently seen attending the Riptide Music Festival in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she rocked out to The Black Keys wearing a leather jacket and miniskirt.
Prior to this, she headed to the Country Bay Music Festival in Miami, Florida, with husband Jared Kushner and son Theodore, seven. For that event she donned a double denim number complete with cowboy-esque hat, which body language expert Judi James described as a "Rodeo Barbie cosplay" which showed a desire "to switch to reveal a less high status, less high-power side" after testifying in dad Donald Trump's civil fraud trial in New York.

She also shared some candid pictures of her attempts at surfing, revealing a far more down-to-earth and relatable side to Ivanka than the prim and proper businesswoman and former first daughter she became known as. Donning a purple swimsuit, Ivanka tried her hand at surfing on artificial waves, sharing pictures of her experience.
Teachers, civil servants and train drivers walk out in biggest strike in decadeAmong those was a picture showing her wiping out, as she tumbled into the water. Judi explained it showed a "more self-effacing trait" and the pictures were "the nearest to a fun and carefree Ivanka that the public have seen".
With so many looks over the last few weeks, it seems Ivanka has been attempting to show there is more to her than a well-dressed former president's daughter and businesswoman known for being elegant and prim. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, body language expert Judi James noted: "There is something rather sweet about the way that Ivanka is shucking off her time as a political heavyweight and consequent courtroom witness to emerge in several completely contradictory cosplay roles that even included a surfer girl clad in a swimming costume."
As she headed to the Riptide Music Festival to rock out on a date night with her husband, Ivanka shared sultry selfies to her Instagram showing off her micro miniskirt and leather jacket in an all-black ensemble with a dramatic red lip. Judi said: "Her latest look is 'Rock chick', which is about as far away from the look she presented on the world stage as she rubbed shoulders with global leaders during her father's time in the White House."
With Trump hoping for a return to the White House in the 2024 elections, Ivanka initially kept her distance, saying she would be instead focusing on her family rather than her father's political career. However, she and husband Jared have been spotted at several high-profile fundraising events for the Republican frontrunner's campaign, though they appear to be in attendance as family, rather than in a political capacity in a step away from their roles as former advisers to Trump.
"As a clue to the universe about any return to politics or even a clue to her father's return to politics, it does seem to look that she is putting as much time and space between herself and that era as possible here," Judi explained. "She's gone fully immersive with the leather biker jacket, flat pixie boots and winged eye liner and false lashes, but underlying it all is her signature air of body language and styling perfection that no serious rock chick would ever contemplate, meaning a switch back to political Ivanka would still be a viable option.
"Her small corners-curled smile in her selfie is as pitch-perfectly charismatic as usual, her nails are salon-manicured, and her hair is utterly immaculate. Only the dog looks off-brand here, perhaps bemused by Ivanka's sudden desire to do typically celebrity bathroom selfies."
Delving deeper into an analysis of Ivanka's snaps from the festival, Judi said: "Ivanka's posture and her poses are elegant in a way that rock-chicks aren't, even with the beauty pageant-style bend of the knee as she poses with her friend. She even blows a kiss over her shoulder in a very non-political non-business guru gesture but swaying to the music looks a trifle self-conscious here and her clapping does seem cutely out of sync."
With Ivanka trying to show numerous different styles and facets of her personality lately, Judi said: "It's as though Ivanka has been suppressing or hiding the 'fun', 'daring' and 'rebellious' sides of her personality away over the years and now her job description has changed she really wants to let rip and allow them to come to the fore.
"The body language point is though that she can change her costumes but she doesn't seem able to change her non-verbal signals to make each look truly authentic and convincing. It's still the same perfectly-groomed Ivanka until we see her swigging from a beer can backstage and smudging that red lipstick and eyeliner."
