Huge news emerged out of Old Trafford on Monday.

As exclusively revealed by Mirror Football, Erik ten Hag is facing a dressing-room revolt at Manchester United. Several members of his squad are to said to be disillusioned, with the Red Devils struggling to pick up results in the Premier League and in Europe.

United are seventh in the table after losing 1-0 to Newcastle at St James' Park on Saturday. They will also need to beat Bayern Munich in seven days' time and hope Galatasaray's clash with Copenhagen ends in a draw to progress from their Champions League group.

With Ten Hag's problems mounting at Old Trafford, Mirror Football takes a look at some of the players he's fallen out with in the past - including several in Manchester...

Anthony Martial

Ten Hag's most recent spat happened during Saturday's game. Martial, who's failed to find form and fitness at Old Trafford since the Dutch coach's arrival in May 2022, was spotted shouting and gesturing in his manager's direction. Ten Hag was doing the same back at him.

"This seems to be the culture within this team at the minute," Jermaine Jenas told TNT Sports while watching a replay of the row. "A lot of arm raising, a lot of blaming of one another, and no cohesiveness. They're not together - and he (Ten Hag) can feel it."

Ten Hag was asked about the row during his post-match press conference on Saturday. He said: "It's not about Anthony Martial; it's about the team. I try to energise the team and try to get a reaction from the team in this moment. As you see, we had a tough period and when you're coaching, you are a little more aggressive, so that's normal."

Only time will tell whether Martial is still in Ten Hag's plans...

Noa Lang

Do you think Erik ten Hag is still the right manager for Manchester United? Let us know in the comments below!

Ten Hag was furious with the winger's attitude during their time together at Ajax. Midway through a Dutch Cup game against Telstar in 2019 - in which Lang scored in - Ten Hag was caught on camera shouting: "Noa! You have to run deep!"

After Lang shouted something back in Ten Hag's direction, the manager replied: "You have to shut up! You have to listen. You just need to do it. No (don't complain), cut it out! It's our game, not just yours."

Lang was loaned out to Twente a month after that row before going on to play for Club Brugge and now PSV Eindhoven. The player wasted no time in criticising Ten Hag on his exit. He said: "It is clear that things were not right between the trainer and me.

"Everyone loved me at Ajax, except for one person. Many people think I am a funny, cheerful little guy who can also play football well. However, not everyone could do with that.

"The moment I indicated that a transfer would be better, I was no longer in the trainer’s plans. I wanted to be loaned, but he was so angry that he wanted to sell me. Not the management, but the trainer got his way.

"No, I never spoke to him again and I don’t want to."

Jadon Sancho

Sancho was surprisingly left out of United's matchday squad for their 3-1 loss at Arsenal in September. Reporters were curious about the £73million man's absence and asked Ten Hag. He replied: "Jadon, on his performance in training we did not select him.

"You have to reach a level every day at Manchester United and we can make choices in the front line. So for this game he was not selected."

Sancho was furious with his manager and denied his comments on social media. He wrote on X: "Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that are completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week.

"I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into. I've been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair! All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team... I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!"

Sancho also said "I respect all the decisions that are made by the coaching staff" but hasn't played for United since. He's now expected to leave Old Trafford in January.

Amin Younes

Younes was an important member of Ajax's squad before Ten Hag's appointment in December 2017. He never started a league game under the manager and was axed from the squad after refusing to come on during their 4-1 win against Heerenveen in March 2018.

"Amin, come," Ten Hag can be heard saying in video footage of the incident, but Younes remained on the bench. Yet there was a lot more to this story. Younes had already agreed to join Napoli on a free transfer at the end of the season by signing a pre-contract deal.

As such, Ajax had nothing to lose by dropping him to their reserves after his stunt. Ten Hag went on to win three consecutive league titles with the Amsterdam outfit.

Cristiano Ronaldo

The row everyone remembers. Ronaldo's relationship with Ten Hag never really got off the ground. The player was tipped to leave Old Trafford within weeks of the manager's appointment, as Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea were all linked with him.

Ronaldo risked his manager's wrath by leaving Old Trafford before the end of a friendly against Rayo Vallecano in July. He got away with the stunt on that occasion, but Ten Hag was furious when Ronaldo refused to come against Tottenham three months later.

The forward stormed down the tunnel and left Old Trafford instead. Ten Hag promised to "deal" with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner but allowed him to remain involved, albeit it as a squad player. "The talk is between Cristiano and me," the boss told reporters.

"The statement is also clear. I am the manager, I'm responsible for the top sport culture here and I have to set standards and values, and I have to control them.

"We are in a team. After Rayo Vallecano I said it's unacceptable but he wasn't the only one. That is for everyone, when it's the second time it will have consequence. That is now what we did... I think it's important for the attitude, mentality for the group."

Yet the row reached breaking point on the eve of the World Cup in Qatar, as Ronaldo conducted a sensational interview with TalkTV host Piers Morgan. He criticised the club, as well as several former and current employees - including Ten Hag.

Ronaldo said: "He (Ten Hag) don't respect the way I should deserve. But it is what it is. This is why probably, the game against Tottenham, I left... If you don’t have respect for me, I'm never going to have respect for you."

After that interview, there was only ever going to be one outcome. Ronaldo left United and joined Al-Nassr, becoming the first of many superstars to move to Saudi Arabia. Perhaps Ten Hag will join him in that league if results at Old Trafford don't improve soon.
