LA Clippers star, Russell Westbrook, has shared his admiration for pop sensation Taylor Swift, revealing he's a dedicated fan who loves attending her concerts.

Westbrook, who moved from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Clippers earlier this year, is playing alongside NBA All-Stars Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and James Harden, who joined the team in a trade with the Philadelphia 76ers.

The basketball star won the NBA MVP award during the 2016/17 season for his outstanding performance with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Despite only leading the Thunder to the first round of the playoffs, Westbrook averaged a triple-double across the regular season.

In a chat with Vogue, Westbrook reminisced about the MVP award ceremony and the congratulatory video he received from Swift. The Clippers star said: "I did get a special thank you video," and "[I'm a] big Taylor Swift fan, and she was gracious enough to send a video and congratulate me on my award. I have definitely been to multiple Taylor Swift shows, tours, whatever. I love her music. I am a fan, so."

Swift sent Westbrook a congratulatory video message to Westbrook back in 2017 when he won the MVP award. The singer joked how the pair could take credit for each other's success, before going on to send a heartfelt message to the NBA star.

"Russell, it's Taylor. Remember I was the one who taught you to play basketball," said Swift in 2017. "I was the one who taught you to dribble, to shoot hoops, and I remember the first time you beat me at basketball."

"I was very upset, and you said...'You just have to shake it off,' and I got an idea. So essentially we have each other to thank for these careers. That's why I'm a part of your congratulations video, because we just, we go back 20 years.

"Actually, we've never met. That's a fake story, but I wish it were the truth. You are amazing, you're the MVP and I'm so happy for you, sending you the biggest hug ever. Congratulations!"

Since signing for the Clippers earlier this year, Westbrook is averaging 12.0 points per game, 6.6 rebounds and 5.3 assists from 26.7 minutes on the court. The 35-year-old has played 19 games for Tyronn Lue's team, with the loss to the Golden State Warriors on Saturday seeing the team fall to 9-10 for the year and drop to ninth in the Western Conference standings.

Westbrook and the Clippers are gearing up for a home game against the reigning NBA champions, the Denver Nuggets, this Tuesday. Despite not starting in recent games, Westbrook has still been a key player off the bench, contributing valuable points to the Clippers' season.
