Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have a very strict bedtime routine - as their nanny keeps a close eye on them at all times.

Maria Borrallo even travels with the family and used to live at Kensington Palace until Kate and William moved to Windsor with their three children. A graduate of the prestigious Norland College, Borrallo is known for enforcing a strict rulebook with some very odd instructions - including "no messing" with the trio, according to Louis Heren, an expert on the college.

Heren said: "That's because Maria will be aware that as they step off planes, holding mum's hands, smiling and waving to the crowds, there can't be any crying or terrible twos or tantrums." One of the rules the three kids are forced to follow is that all three must play outside, regardless of the weather.

Heren added: "There will be lots and lots of outdoor play, that's the one thing you could say Norland are old-fashioned about. Loads of fresh air. Lots of bike rides, playing with their dogs, potentially some gardening. Norland are very into teaching children through play."

Other rules include a strict 7pm bedtime and new flavours and foods being introduced every few days to discourage fussy eating, reports the Daily Express. The nanny teaches the children through play including games and jigsaws, and their screen time is limited by their parents.

It is also her job to explain to them what is expected at Royal engagements. Ms Heren said: "She'll say: 'This is your opportunity to show Mummy and Daddy just how wonderful you are, and you are to smile and be really good for them and then we can go inside and play'."

George, Charlotte, and Louis have a strict bedtime routine under their nanny's watchful eye. With rules like a strict bedtime and trying new foods every few days, the three children certainly do not have an average childhood.
