Jake Paul has been told an MMA fight against Nate Diaz would play out the same way their boxing match did.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul won a one-sided decision against Diaz and even dropped the UFC legend when they fought back in August. The fight marked Diaz's boxing debut as he split with the UFC after tapping out Tony Ferguson in his final fight for the promotion last September.

PFL, the MMA promotion Paul is signed to, has since offered Diaz $15million to rematch the social media sensation in MMA. Diaz is yet to accept the offer but Paul will still make his highly-anticipated cage debut next year with or without his counterpart's involvement. UFC veteran Matt Brown has backed Paul to beat Diaz in MMA if they do fight because of the latter's style.

“Jake Paul, I’m going to pick him to win,” Brown told The Fighter vs. The Writer. “I’m going to pick him to beat Nate Diaz in MMA. “We already know he can outbox him. When was the last time you saw Nate Diaz take someone down? I don’t think he’ll be able to take him down, even if he tries to.

“He’s way, way undersized. Jake Paul is so much bigger than him. I don’t know what weight it will be at, probably 185lb. Nate’s not a great wrestler, it’s going to end up staying on the feet. What difference would it be [from boxing] if it stays on the feet? Nate rarely throws elbows and doesn’t throw kicks a whole lot.

"He’s primarily an MMA boxer. His MMA style is he pressures you, he outboxes you and pressures you until you take him down or grab hold of him, which, that’s what he wants. Now he can do his jiu-jitsu game. It’s just a bad matchup. I wouldn’t pick very many people to be able to do that, I don’t think Nate will be able to take him down and we already know what’s going to happen on the feet."

Paul makes his return to the ring in just over two weeks against unknown professional boxer Andre August. 'The Problem Child' is looking to end this year on a high having suffered his first professional defeat in February at the hands of Love Island star Tommy Fury before rebounding against Diaz six months on.
