Prince Archie's godfather finally named amid major 'snub' to Meghan and Harry
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly not been invited to Prince Archie's godfather's wedding.
Archie, 4, was christened in July 2019 and at the time there was an outcry that his godparents were not revealed, as per usual Royal tradition. It has since been reported that they are Tiggy Pettifer - formerly Legge-Bourke - who was nanny to young William and Harry; King Charles' former equerry Mark Dyer; and Harry's close friend Charlie van Straubenzee.
Today The Sunday Times revealed that the fourth godparent is Hugh Grosvenor, who is a lifelong friend of both Harry and William. The paper goes on to report that Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster, 32, has decided to not invite the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to his big society wedding to Olivia Henson, 30, next summer. The paper claims that this is to prevent an awkward clash between Harry and Meghan and the rest of the Windsor clan. King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton are all confirmed attendees.

The Sunday Times reports: "It is thought that Prince William is in the running to be best man for Grosvenor, a godfather to Prince George, ten, who is also expected to attend. It is understood that he had wanted the Sussexes to attend his wedding and originally planned to invite them, but has decided against it, conscious that the drama surrounding the couple risks overshadowing the day and causing tension for Charles, Camilla, William and Kate."

"He wishes they could put their heads together and patch things up, but realises it’s unlikely to happen before the wedding. He wanted to avoid anything overshadowing the day, especially for Olivia, and doesn’t want any awkwardness.”
There had been hopes that Christmas could bring the warring factions of the Royals close together, but after Omid Scobie's Endgame was released last week – which relit the royal race row fire as the Dutch translation named King Charles and Kate Middleton as the royals alleged to have made remarks about Prince Archie's skin colour – Harry has been urged to "let go" of any ideas of a reunion.
