Love Island's Laura Anderson has stepped out in a stunning purple dress and pink heels after hitting back at mum-shamers over her parenting of baby Bonnie last month.

The 34-year-old, best known for placing second in the ITV reality dating series in 2018, attended the Starry Night Gala for Action For Children UK.Her exciting appearance comes just a couple of months after she gave birth to her first child with Gary Lucy. Former flight attendant Laura met the Hollyoaks actor on Celebs Go Dating in August last year, embarking on a whirlwind romance after the 41-year-old revealed his desire for a "long-term relationship." They split during her pregnancy but reportedly reunited before welcoming baby Bonnie into the world in September, much to the delight of her adoring fanbase.

Laura has never been shy about her love of fashion, regularly posting her outfit creations on social media and even launching her clothing line with UK retailer New Look earlier this month. She upped the style stakes yet again last night, arriving at the glitzy charity event wearing a silk plum dress with a sharp plunging neckline and a high thigh slit. If that wasn't dramatic enough, the gown also featured elevated shoulder pads and extra-long sleeves with thumb holes for an added inch of warmth. Laura teamed the elegant dress with hot pink heels fastened by ankle straps and straightened blonde hair with a raised crown for a regal finish.

It didn't take long for the Celebs Go Dating star's famous pals to share their reactions to the glam post, which came just days after she attended the Beauty Awards UK for the first time. "Beautiful," Married at First Sight UK star Laura Vaughan wrote, while fellow Love Islander Hayley Hughes called the majestic look, "Stunning." Others hailed the mother-of-one's outfit as "classy," "gorgeous," and "sensational."

Laura recently opened up about the abuse she receives online about her motherhood journey, which she has been sharing candidly on Instagram over the past couple of months. The Scottish native admitted that while she appreciates the influx of advice from fellow moms, she hinted that some people need to work on the "delivery" of their messages.

"I think since becoming a mum, my social media space has become more positive and I can resonate with mums and talking about real stuff," Laura told the Sun. "I get so many DMs on the daily about silly little daily things and it means so much to engage with my community. But it's all about the delivery, it's all about how you say it."

Laura received some backlash from followers over photos of her Dubai vacation with Bonnie last month after it was implied she hadn't protected the baby sufficiently from the blazing sun. "Face looks red on baby but nice shot enjoy," one person wrote, suggesting that the reality TV star hadn't applied enough sunscreen on her newborn. Not everyone agreed with this, however, with one person writing: "You can clearly see (unless you need glasses) she isn’t burnt. Babies are always more pinky skin toned than adults whether abroad or not."
