Grace Dent has given a gruesome and detailed insight into what life really is like inside the I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! camp.

The 50-year-old Masterchef star left the ITV show earlier this week due to 'medical reasons' after viewers shared concern over her appearance in camp. Her exit was announced by ITV as a spokesperson for the show said: "Unfortunately Grace Dent has left the show on medical grounds. She has been a great campmate and will be missed by her fellow celebrities and viewers alike."

Hours later, the star was seen at Brisbane Airport ahead of a flight back to the UK – where she was whisked through the rarely-used VIP entrance and kept tight-lipped. She continued to remain silent as she was spotted back in the UK, looking downcast as she made her way through arrivals at Heathrow Airport.

She later opted to speak out on social media about her I'm A Celebrity experience, sparing little to no gruesome detail about her insect-infested experience within the Australian jungle's camp. In the lengthy Instagram post, in which the food critic detailed her 'overwhelming sadness' at having to leave the show, Grace revealed the realities of camping Down Under.

Grace shared various horrors from her experience including finding mealworms in her bra, having a cockroach crawl into her ear canal and sleeping amongst 'hungry rats'. She explained in the post how the stars do not have any contact with the outside world, "living much of the time outdoors in a rain forest in very wet weather".

She added how the once-in-a-lifetime experience "gave me a short, sharp glimpse into the pain some folk worldwide endure". Going into detail about the gruesome experiences from the show, Grace penned: "For as long as I live, I shall never forget the cockroach that entered my ear canal and the sound of its little feet creeping closer down to my brain. It took us two goes to lure him out. Sat on the grass behind the ‘Scarena’ he finally washed up.

"The jungle showed me how quickly I could become blasé about sleeping with hungry rats, noisy toads, moths and Huntsman spiders. It taught me that when you have to sleep close to the enemy the trick is to stay calm, have empathy and that screaming achieves nothing but wasted calories.

"The jungle showed me that I am physically stronger than I thought; I can carry a lot of logs and water up hill, build fire and eat hare innards at dawn for breakfast."

Following the various horrific camp experiece, Grace revealed she is now planning to "recover" and "make some serious plans for dinner". She then joked: "Three courses, extra potatoes, definitely pudding. I think I deserve it."

Grace ended the post with: "I love you all and miss my jungle crew. Miss Grace Dent xxx". During her appearance on the programme, viewers shared concerns over Grace looking unwell as one wrote on X, previously named Twitter: "Really hope Grace gets well Was shocked at the vote She looked very ill & a bit spaced out Your in my prayers Get well soon".

Another added: "omg Grace looks very ill Hope she is OK" while a third added: "The way Grace Dent looked visibly unwell and ppl voted her for the challenge don’t sit right w me, I hope she’s okay #ImACeleb".
