Uber Eats is one of the best-known fast-food delivery services in the UK, with thousands of us picking up the phone to place orders every single day - but have you ever thought about how much money their delivery drivers make?

One woman has revealed just how much money she takes home as an Uber Eats driver - and surprised a lot of people in the process.

Karyna Diaz, from Las Vegas, described the job as the "perfect side hustle for stay at home mums". She decided to document a day in her life as a delivery driver, inviting people to see how she makes her money.

In a video shared on TikTok, Karyna says: "Come with me today to see how much money we can make doing Uber Eats orders.

"I already picked up my first order. This one's from Chick-fil-A. This one's $7 [£5.50] for only three miles…Just got my second order. This one's from The Bar. It's $8 [£6.30] for two miles away.

Karyna later confirmed that in total, she made $172 [£135.50]. She clarified that she had worked for seven hours in a "rich area" and only accepted higher orders.

The TikTok video stunned viewers and has been watched more than 1.2 million times. The comments section was quickly flooded with questions for Karyna.

One person said: "You should add how much gas you lose. I remember one of my uber drivers saying how they have to spend more than they make." Karyna replied: "I spent $25 on gas to work this day."

Someone else asked: "How does it work? Do you make whatever the ORDER costs? Or do you only get what they give in tip?" Karyna revealed: "Whatever price the order pops up for on your phone you get that amount. Which includes the base pay & tip."

A third wrote: "Okay help a girl out, just started and wanted to learn some tips. What's your 3 best tips for a beginner?" "Hi mama!" Karyna wrote. "1. don't accept any high mileage/ low pay.. 2. If you ever deliver at night at apartments or certain areas call them down to get the order. & 3. Go on weekends!"
