Manchester United are in the midst of a week of crucial away games with Galatasaray next up.

The Red Devils easily saw off Everton on Sunday as their run of impressive Premier League form continued. Next up is a daunting trip to Turkey to take on a Galatasaray side who shocked them at Old Trafford. United realistically need a win to keep their qualification hopes alive.

Newcastle will be their weekend assignment, but their immediate focus will be on European action. United lost their last two Champions League away outings at Copenhagen and Bayern Munich.

Here is the latest from the red side of Manchester.

Fergie's £1.2m purchase

Sir Alex Ferguson has purchased a £1.2million house in a village next door to son Darren so he can be near his grandchildren.

The ex-United boss snapped up the detached five-bedroom property in Goostrey, Cheshire. England star Raheem Sterling previously lived in the village. The Mirror revealed last week that Ferguson was selling the family home he had lived in for 20 years in nearby Wilmslow with his wife Cathy before she passed away last month aged 84.

It was put on the market for £3.5m. It comes complete with a “Ferguson clan” tartan carpet in the games room. United recall loan star

United are ready to recall Charlie McNeill from his season-long loan at League One side Stevenage.

McNeill joined the third tier outfit on deadline day but has been unable to make a meaningful impact in the football league. He scored on his debut for Stevenage but was cut from the squad in September and has made the bench just four times since - failing to get any minutes.

United insert a recall clause into all of their academy graduates who depart for a season-long loans, one that can be activated in January. McNeill is now set to return to Old Trafford with his plans beyond then unknown as United potentially consider another loan.

Garnacho's touch of class

Alejandro Garnacho's classy gesture reduced a young fan to tears when he handed him the football boots with which he scored his wonder goal at Everton.

The United forward scored the first of his side's three in the win at Goodison Park. His overhead kick has been lauded as one of the greatest goals in Premier League history. The young fan told the Argentine that his effort was better than Wayne Rooney's iconic strike against Manchester City in 2011.

Garnacho had stopped to sign a picture for the young fan, but it was also his birthday and the United player reached across and handed him a Nike shoe box. He opened it to find the red boots that Garnacho had worn on Sunday, which were also signed.
