Bradley Cooper addresses being Brooke Shields' 'angel' when she had a seizure
Bradley Cooper has reacted to being called Brooke Shields' "guardian angel" after she opened up about him supporting her through a medical emergency once.
The actor, 48, addressed the situation whilst at the Gotham Awards in New York City on Monday. He attended the event alongside his colleague Carey Mulligan, as their new film Maestro was honoured at the special occasion this week.
It comes just weeks after fellow actor Brooke, 58, shared that Bradley had provided support when she experienced a seizure at a restaurant in the city earlier this year. It was later suggested that he had been her "guardian angel".

Addressing the suggestion whilst talking to Extra at the awards ceremony this week, Bradley teased he was "happy" to have helped. He told the outlet on the red carpet: "Oh, well I was happy to be in the right place at the right time."
Brooke Shields tells of rape for the first time in Pretty Baby documentaryHe was described as her "guardian angel" in an interview with the outlet at Glamour's Women of the Year 2023 event earlier this month. It came after Brooke first discussed the incident in an issue of Glamour magazine just days prior.
She told the magazine that she had a "full-blown grand mal seizure" - which the NHS states is also known as a 'tonic-clonic seizure' - before a performance of her show Previously Owned by Brooke Shields at Café Carlyle in September.
Brooke recalled that she had been "drinking so much water" whilst preparing for the show and had looked "weird" as she headed out for the evening. She said that the seizure happened after arriving at the restaurant L'Artusi in the city.
She said: "Everything starts to go black. Then my hands drop to my side and I go headfirst into the wall." Brooke said she began having a grand mal seizure, adding: "It means frothing at the mouth, totally blue, trying to swallow my tongue."
The actor said she was later loaded into an ambulance and given oxygen. Brooke said that her pal Bradley - whom she had worked with on the film The Midnight Meat Train (2008) - was beside her in the ambulance holding her hand.
According to the outlet, he ended up with her after staff at the restaurant were unable to reach her husband Chris Henchy. An assistant is said to have got in touch with her pal Bradley, who described as having been "nearby".
Brooke told the outlet that Bradley offered reassurance and support, with her saying that it felt "odd and surreal" at the time. She added that upon her arrival into hospital, she was told that she was experiencing low sodium levels.
She said that she had "too much water" and "flooded" her system, adding that she "drowned" herself. She suggested to the outlet during the interview that a lack of sodium in the blood or elsewhere in the body can lead to a seizure. She said she felt dehydrated due to "singing more" than normal, doing her show and a podcast at the time.
