Fresh allegations about Prince William and Harry's fractured relationship have been laid-bare in an explosive book exposing power struggles between royals.

The Prince of Wales is said to have taken an immediate "disliking" to former Hollywood star Meghan Markle, and worked to distance himself from his brother Harry as soon as the Sussexes got married. The shocking claims were revealed in Omid Scobie's new book, Endgame, which includes reports that there are two royal family members at the centre of the royal race row.

Royal writer Scobie paints a scathing picture of the future King, as he claims that William believes Harry is "no longer useful as a helpful distraction or collateral damage" - further entrenching his younger brother's status as the 'Spare' heir.

In the book, which is set to hit the UK shelves on Tuesday 28 December but released overseas on Monday, the writer gives telling insight into the dynamic between the two fighting brothers - and reveals the family war begun far earlier than many suspected.

Scobie writes: "William had been wanting to distance himself from his brother ever since Harry's marriage to Meghan - whom the then Duke of Cambridge took a disliking to from the start."

According to the author, who wrote a biography on Meghan and Harry titled Finding Freedom, the Waleses are no longer concerned with "Harry's drama".

Elsewhere in the book, Scobie's also paints Prince William's attempts at standing up to racism in a rather dim light, as he claims the future King has an ulterior motive. Despite acknowledging the Prince of Wales' efforts to publicly call out racism as part of his public duties - including his "we are very much not a racist family" retaliation when questioned following the Sussexes explosive Oprah interview - the writer alleges that William's efforts feel contrived.

He claims that despite William's "civic outcries" on racial issues, the future King and Princess Kate have yet to contact Harry and Meghan about the race row, made public in the Sussexes' explosive Oprah interview.

Other explosive allegations in the book include Meghan "never" wanting to "set foot again in England again". It also claims Kate and Meghan's soured relationship is damaged beyond repair, as Scobie's sources claim that "every time she hears about Meghan, Kate shudders and giggles."

There are further bombshells about Harry and William's fractured relationship too, with the Prince of Wales now considering the Duke of Sussex an "outsider" after he published his controversial memoir Spare in which he alleged his older brother physically attacked him.

Other explosive allegations in the book include Meghan "never" wanting to "set foot again in England again". It also claims Kate and Meghan's soured relationship is damaged beyond repair.

The headings of chapters include: 'Shaky Ground: The Queen is Dead, the Monarchy Faces Trouble', 'The Fall of Prince Andrew: Scandal, Shame and Silencing Jane Doe'. 'Race and the Royals: Institutional Bigotry and Denial', 'Gloves On: Prince William, Heir to the Throne', and 'Gloves Off: Prince Harry, Man on a Mission'.
