Angela Scanlon broke down in tears as she broke her silence this evening regarding her Strictly Come Dancing exit over the weekend.

The Irish presenter and her dance partner Carlos Gu were voted off on Sunday night (November 27), after finding themselves in the bottom two against West End star Layton Williams. Appearing on Strictly's spin-off show It Takes Two this evening, Angela opened up about her final stint on the BBC dancefloor.

As host Fleur East welcomed both Carlo and Angela onto the show, a video montage of their time on the show was played. This led to Angela breaking down and admitting that she feels the loss "deeply."

Fleur asked Angela if she felt she left the show "on a high" after her Cha Cha Cha to the classic hit, 'I Will Survive.' However, Angela had a different perspective. "I don't know if anyone feels they go out on a high, do they? The song is a bit painful to listen to now let's be honest. I will survive feels a bit like salt in the wound considering we didn't," she said.

During the show, all the couples danced their hearts out in the Ballroom, hoping to impress judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Head Judge, Shirley Ballas, as well as the voting public. Angela went head-to-head with Layton and his professional partner Nikita Kuzmin. They performed an American Smooth to Perry Como's Magic Moments, originally scoring 34 points.

After watching both routines, the judges delivered their verdicts. Craig Revel Horwood chose to save Layton and Nikita. Craig said: "Technically for me personally, the better dance of the night, and the dance I actually enjoyed the most, was Layton and Nikita." Motsi Mabuse also opted to save Layton and Nikita, telling the couples: "Well this was certainly a tough, tough dance-off. I based my decision on musicality and balance and that is why I will be saving Nikita and Layton."

Anton Du Beke also chose to save Layton and Nikita, making it three out of three. He said: "Well I thought that was quite a tense dance off, I don't think either couple danced as well as they can. It was the closest dance-off we've had in the series so far. This is the only thing, I saw an error from one of the couples, so I'm going to vote to keep into the quarter-finals, Layton and Nikita."
