Prince Louis reportedly enjoys an outdoor activity that many other members of his family consider a hobby, including his mother Princess Kate, and King Charles.

Kate Middleton and Prince William 's youngest son, aged five, has taken a keen interest in gardening, following in her footsteps with his outdoorsy, back-to-the-land interests. And his growing love for gardening and nature shows just how quickly the five-year-old is growing up.

In fact, the mother revealed that after a long day at his £50,000-a-year Lambrook school in Windsor, Louis likes spending time outdoors. She said: 'Louis comes home and says "I need to get my energy out".

And over the years, the Duchess of Cambridge has spoken out about her youngest son's love for gardening.

In 2020, as part of the Children’s Hospice Week, the Duchess helped to plant a garden at The Nook, one of the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) facilities in Norfolk. During the engagement, she shared how Louis seemingly inherited her green thumb, adding: "The children are really enjoying growing their sunflowers, Louis's is winning so George is a little grumpy about that!"

And Louis joined his siblings at in May year, as he volunteered at The Big Help Out, where people were encouraged to volunteer in their communities as part of the celebrations of the Coronation of Charles III and his wife, Camilla. Little Louis was snapped taking control of the digger with his father, as his sat in his lap while the pair moved the mechanical arm and grabbed a bucket full of soil before dumping it on a spoil heap.

Later the five-year-old prince was given the task of filling a wheelbarrow with what looked like builders’ sand and he focused on the job, before wheeling the barrow himself. During her surprise appearance at the Chelsea Flower Show in May, Kate also revealed that Louis has been growing sunflowers at school. “They get so big, don't they?," she said.

"Louis is growing broad beans at school. You put them in a cup and you can see the roots growing. They get big quickly, like sunflowers."

Kate has also passed her love of the outdoors on to all three of her kids, including Prince George and eight-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte. Her oldest son has farm chores at the family’s country home of Anmer Hall, feeding the farm animals. Princess Charlotte has a fascination with nature as well.

And it has also been revealed that Carole Middleton gardens with her royal grandchildren.
