Most Love Island couples are quick to flaunt their romance on red carpets – but not Scott Thomas and Mary Bedford.

Despite denying dating rumours last year, the loved-up pair are now very much a couple – having taken three holidays together this year. A source says: “Scott and Mary started dating around Valentine’s Day.

“With their jetset lifestyles, they’ve been able to hide their relationship on romantic getaways, but it’s getting more and more difficult to keep it secret. They haven’t wanted to go public until they were certain it’s for the long haul. They went to Switzerland at the end of February and most recently, Abu Dhabi. They’re totally smitten.”

Scott, who owns the PR company Mary is signed to, came third with Kady McDermott on the second series, but they split after a year. Mary entered season seven as a bombshell but was dumped after 23 days. They’ll be hoping for a happier ending.

In May 2022, Mary said she was left "shaken" after she was robbed when she was travelling in an Uber. She said she was "shocked" when thousands of pounds worth of handbags, shoes and sunglasses were stolen from the Mercedes she was travelling in.

She said she had been waiting for around 10 minutes with her belongings before her luggage was later placed in the boot of the car. Seconds after getting into the car, the former Islander said her luggage was suddenly stolen. She alleged that the boot had not been secured.

“I was stood waiting for an Uber for 10 minutes and then it came," she said posting on her Instagram stories. “Anyway, my Uber came, we put both suitcases in the boot and I kept my duffel bag. I got in the car.

“Literally the Uber set off, but on a Mercedes the car doesn’t lock and someone came and grabbed my bag out of the boot.” Mary later explained that her Uber driver then vacated the car and realised the luggage was missing.

It's said there was a mixture of bags, shoes and sunglasses within the luggage. The TV star quickly called the police to report the incident, and an officer is said to have asked her how long she had been hanging around waiting for the Uber to collect her.

Mary continued: "I said 10 minutes and she said they would have been watching me, waiting for you to get in.” She added: “They have taken so much but it could have been much worse. I was shocked at first. I rang my mum because I was so shaken. It’s just scary.”
