Emmerdale's Charley Webb shares rare photo of lookalike son days after split
Emmerdale's Charley Webb has shared a rare photo of her lookalike son Buster, 13, just days after her split from Matthew Wolfenden.
The soap star took to her Instagram page to wish her son well as he started his role as Oliver Twist at Leeds Playhouse. She said she wouldn't be able to be there on opening night but would be in due course.
Alongside the post, she wrote: "Buster opens in Oliver tonight @leedsplayhouse So proud of him. Sad I can't be there to see him be amazing but I'll be there so so soon."
This comes just days after Charley announced she had split from her husband and former Emmerdale co-star Matthew Wolfenden. After months of speculation, Charley posted a joint statement with her husband on Instagram.
She confirmed the news with a post asking for privacy as she stated they remain focused on their children. She wrote: "It is with love and respect that Matthew and I have decided to separate. We remain friends and our priority is the love for our children. For their sake we would appreciate privacy at this time. C x."
Emmerdale's Charley Webb forced to close down dream business after leaving soapMatthew shared the same message on his Instagram story signing off with "M" instead. Earlier this month, Matthew sparked rumours he and his wife had split after unfollowing Charley on Instagram.
He had not commented on any of her recent pictures or posted about his wife in more than a year. The couple first met on the set of ITV soap Emmerdale and started dating in 2007.
Their split announcement came just a few days after Matthew was spotted without his wedding ring during an appearance on Channel 4's Steph's Packed Lunch. Meanwhile, Charley has also been seen without her wedding ring in public.
Charley and Matthew announced their engagement in 2009 and have three together – Buster, 13, Bowie, eight, and Ace, four. The pair previously split back in 2013 for two years as a spokesperson confirmed at the time: "Charley Webb and Matthew Wolfenden have today confirmed that they have separated."
In 2015, Charley and Matthew confirmed they had reunited before the David Metcalfe star told fans their break-up "was never a permanent split". He said: "We just needed some time apart. Sometimes life just gets on top of you.
"We had a terrible two-year-old at the time and needed time to look at what we had but it was the best thing we could have done. Now I’m maybe more thoughtful, more romantic."
Months after announcing their reunion, the couple confirmed they were expecting a second child and their son Bowie Grey was born in December 19 that year. In 2018 they then surprised fans by announcing they had tied the knot.
Matthew recently quit Emmerdale after 18 years of playing David Metcalfe while Charley stepped away from her role as Debbie Dingle two years ago.
