Jeff Hordley would love to see his on-screen daughter Charley Webb make a return to Emmerdale.

Jeff, who plays Cain Dingle, would love to see Charley - who starred as Debbie Dingle on the ITV soap - back in the Dales soon. He has been on the soap for a number of years, and starred alongside Charley for several of those.

Charley departed the soap in 2021, but he would love to see Charley back in her role one day. Jeff has just been part of a huge storyline of his own, after his brother Caleb's plan to scam Kim Tate was revealed.

Insisting he'd love for Charley to come back, he said there was always room for such an "important and integral character".

Speaking about a possible return, he told The Sun: "Absolutely, all day long. I'm in touch with Charley an awful lot but I think she's kind of busy doing other things. There is always room for her to return - she was such a massive character in the show and such an important and integral character. She did so many fantastic storylines, it would be great to see her back."

Jeff previously told The Mirror what his hopes are for Cain and Caleb as he teased what's to come in Super Soap Week.

He told the Mirror: "I don't know where it's going to go but I'm hoping that the two come together at some point in a positive way and they work together because that would be nice to see them work together.

"I think, possibly, there will always be friction but I do think Caleb's intentions are really honourable I think he wants to help his brother, he wants to befriend his brother but he just keeps making the wrong moves."

Jeff, 53, added: "He was going to take the farm off Kim and then give them the money back – if he'd told them that in the first place we might be in a different position now but Cain's not very trusting of him."

He is hopeful that the Super Soap Week this year will be just as good as the Hotten Bypass crash one.

He added: "I don't know what's going on – I think we're going to get the scripts really soon.

"I heard it's meant to be fantastic so, it always is. My favourite Super Soap Week was the Hotten Bypass car crash, that was brilliant so it would be great if we could try and replicate that at some point in the future. I don't think it's going to be this year but I think something like that, the storytelling in that was just magnificent."

*Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV, with additional episodes at 8pm on Thursdays
