Lauren Goodger and Charles Drury spotted with daughter after alleged 'assault'
Lauren Goodger and Charles Drury have been photographed together for the first time since he was charged with assault last year.
The 37-year-old former The Only Way Is Essex star and 26-year-old builder Charles have been in an on-off relationship since 2020. In July 2021, the pair welcomed a daughter named Larose together - and they became parents for a second time in July 2022. However, tragedy befell the family and Lauren confirmed that her second daughter, who was named Lorena, tragically passed away just minutes after being born.
In August last year, and on the day of their baby’s funeral, Charles was charged with assaulting Lauren. Charles was also charged with engaging in ‘coercive' and 'controlling' behaviour - and he denied all the charges against him.
The Metropolitan Police later confirmed in a statement in June this year: “A man has appeared in court charged with offences linked to an incident in Upminster. Charles Drury – 25 (25.06.97) of Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire appeared at Barkingside Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 14 June charged with assault (ABH) and engaging in controlling/coercive behaviour.”
The statement added: “The charges relate to an incident police were called to in Upminster on 4 August 2022. A woman aged in her 30s was treated for facial injuries.”
Lauren Goodger joins Katie Price and unveils 'butterfly lips' after tweakmentOn Monday, Charles, Lauren and Larose were photographed looking happy together at Lakeside shopping centre in Essex. The former Towie star looked casual in a pair of leggings and a loose fitting jumper, while Charles sported a thick puffy black jacket, shorts and t-shirt, and a cap.
OK!, who published the images, reports: "Lauren kept a low profile on the outing... The pair seemed amicable as they were pictured chatting as they walked along together. It marked the first time Charles has been seen out in public with Lauren since he denied assaulting her."
Charles is still due to face the allegations made against him via a trial which has been set to commence at Barkingside Magistrates' Court in 2024. A pre-trial hearing is due on Monday 12 February 2024 with the five day trial expected to begin on Monday 18 March 2024.
Earlier this year, Lauren opened up about the agony of losing her second child. The star had been planning a home birth, but was rushed to hospital when the midwife said she could no longer hear a heartbeat. Lauren said: “I never ever thought I would have to plan a funeral for my child. It shouldn’t happen. It breaks my heart that I won’t see her grow up.”
