Lauren Goodger has been trolled by some of her followers for selling a real fur coat online.

Even though the former TOWIE star promised to donate the proceeds to charity, her fans were not impressed.

The 36-year-old reality star took to social media to show the long length coat with lapels, which was made from red fox fur.

Lauren said the coat had been gifted to her and was worth £4,000, however she was willing to sell it for £1,000.

She had unearthed it when she had been going through her possessions. The reality star has recently been on a mission to sell the contents of her old home and wardrobe, describing it as “therapy”, following her split from ex-boyfriend Charles Drury.

Advertising the coat, Lauren wrote: “Vintage fur long brown/caramel red fox coat item not my own .. was given by a friends mother when she passed worth 4k sale 1k.”

One person raged: “This needs to be set fire to !!!”, while another agreed that the coat needed disposing of, writing: “This needs to go in the bin.”

And another person suggested: “How about sell it and donate the money to animal rescue… win win.”

While fur farms were banned in the UK in 2003, vintage fur coats are still on sale in the present day.

Foxes used for manufacturing fur coats could live in cages for up to four years, before being killed and having their skin sold on.

One single fox fur coat would require around 10 to 20 foxes to be killed.

Sources have revealed to The Sun that Lauren is planning to donate the money raised from the sale of the coat to charity.

The reality star has concentrated her efforts to sell her clothes and possessions as a way of “wiping the slate clean”, after her ex Charles was arrested.

She is currently clearing out all the items the couple owned together.

A source said at the time: "Lauren has sold everything."

The source added to : "Selling all her stuff from the house she lived in with Charles has been therapy in itself."

Lauren has moved out of the house the former couple shared and is now back in her old apartment, with daughter Larose.
