When it comes to naming a baby, not only do parents need to consider how a name could impact their child later in life, but their initials too. One woman has been left wishing her parents put a bit more thought into her name, claiming her initials have become the "bane of her existence".

She explained how she cannot use her initials without coming across as a popular sandwich - and it has caused her to avoid using them altogether. The woman said: "I hate my initials. I can never have traditional monograming (first, last, middle) without it being a f***ing sandwich."

Thankfully for the woman, there aren't too many instances where she actually needs to use her initials using traditional monograming, with many documents now asking for them in order of first, middle and then surname instead.

She added on Reddit : "[They're] BTL - with traditional monogram it's BLT. I don't [like BLTs], raw tomatoes are disgusting to me, personally."

While most users tried to reassure her that BLT isn't all that bad, others shared their own embarrassing initials in an attempt to make her feel better.

One user said: "I'm DMB - all I’m missing is the U."

Another user added: "Good male friend [of mine] has a gold bracelet with his initials etched on it PMS - and it took him awhile to figure it out."

A third user said: "Mine are TB... just as unappealing."

It comes after a woman explained how she is named after a luxury clothing brand and it has caused her no end of problems throughout her life.

Taking to Reddit, she said: "My sister named me and my mother and father were dumb enough to listen to her.

"My family likes my name and so do some people at school but I literally hate my name. I sometimes got picked on for my name as well."

The woman is named Armani after the Italian luxury fashion house founded by Giorgio Armani - but claims it doesn't suit her personality in the slightest.

She added: "I don't fit it. I don't like how it's spelt or how I say it. I don’t really want to say my name [because of] how embarrassing and tacky it is."

She went on to explain how her family now all call her by a nickname - but her classmates continue to use her real name.

"I really want to change my name when I'm older and spoke to my mother and sister about this and they got upset and said that my name is fine," she said.
