A Dancing on Ice star has been rushed to rehab after suffering a painful injury.

Former Love Island star Amber Davies had her training regime scuppered after she hurt herself whilst skating. She is set to take part in the ITV competition, yet has suffered a setback before the show has even begun. It comes after former Gogglebox star Stephen Lustig-Webb has already had to pull out of the programme after breaking his ankle training.

Amber, 27, took to her social media where she revealed that she had suffered a muscle injury. She is currently starring in a UK touring production of the Pretty Woman Musical where she plays Vivian Ward in the stage show. However, the reality star told her fans she tore her Quad muscle.

Sharing a photo of herself in costume, Amber said: "Tore my Quad on Monday (grade one luckily). And the show must go on as they say... Big thank you to @olliesavile for holding me up half the week when I needed it the most." She has vowed to carry on with her training for the ITV competition with her professional partner Simon Sénécal., despite the setback.

Amber took to her social media again where she seemed to be getting a leg massage with muscle gel to help soothe her injury. She wrote: "Back on the ice tomorrow for some softer training with my main man @simsenecal. Ey what doesn't kill ya makes you stronger."

Amber won the ITV2 reality romance show back in 2017 - when she scooped the top prize alongside Kem Cetinay, who himself competed on Dancing On Ice in 2018. She will join the likes of Ryan Thomas, Roxy Shahidi, Adele Roberts, Ricky Norwood, Ricky Hatton, Claire Sweeney, Hannah Spearritt, Greg Rutherford, Miles Nazaire, Lou Sanders and Eddie The Eagle.

She said of taking part, and following in the footsteps of other Islanders: "I would definitely say that I'm an adrenaline junkie but I do get more nervous as I get older and I hope that I can contain them, I don't want the adrenalin to get the better of me. I can count on one hand how many times I've ice skated."

Stephen broke his ankle during training for the programme, resulting in his dreams of competing coming to an abrupt end. The 52-year-old left Gogglebox after a decade with aspirations of exploring other TV opportunities. He was announced as part of the Dancing on Ice line-up shortly after his Gogglebox exit was revealed, but his time in the skating competition was sadly cut short.

A spokesperson for Dancing On Ice said last month: "Stephen Lustig-Webb has had to withdraw from the show due an injury he sustained to his ankle during training. He is still very much a part of the Dancing On Ice family, we will be helping to support Stephen and we wish him well with his recovery."

Stephen later broke his silence on his injury and revealed he had to undergo surgery. He shared a picture of himself resting his leg in a cast while cuddling his three adorable pubs on a sofa. The telly favourite said: "Thank you for all of your kind words and messages. On Wednesday last week during my training session for Dancing on Ice, I fell and broke my left ankle.

"I’ve had surgery and will be on crutches for a few months meaning, I’ve had to leave the competition which I’m absolutely gutted about. I was having so much fun and enjoying learning to skate. I will of course be keeping a close eye on all of the other celebs and pros and supporting them all the way. Unfortunately, I will also have to pull out of the London Marathon. I’m doing my best to keep my spirits up and will hopefully be back on my feet again very soon."
