Black Friday is finally officially here, although if your inbox is anything like mine it's felt like it's lasted a month already. But while there are some huge discounts that have caused a stir already, from Ninja's limited edition copper air fryers to Amazon's TV discounted by £400 to select shoppers by invite only, they still involve a spending a chunk of money, just less than you would have without the offer.

However, Amazon offers a host of little-known freebies and perks to its customers that you can get access to without spending any money on at all as part of Amazon Prime or other services run by the internet giant and most of them are available for free trials - just remember to make a note to cancel before the introductory period ends so you don't get charged.

Stream the latest music including Foo Fighters and Taylor Swift for free

With Spotify increasing its prices recently and Christmas coming, now is a great time to switch to give Amazon Music Unlimited a try and save some cash heading into 2024.

The retailer is offering three months free for anyone who signs up during Black Friday season, meaning you can enjoy 100 million songs including ad-free big-name new releases and podcasts until the end of February without it costing a thing.

Following the trial period it costs £10.99 a month for non-Prime members although if you subscribe to that you get £1 a month off your music too.

Read newspapers, magazines and best-selling books for free

Of all the different services Amazon offers, this might be my favourite freebie. Kindle Unlimited offers millions of books, thousands of audiobooks and a range of magazines and newspapers and while the brand's Black Friday deal offers a generous three months for £9.49 (basically three months for the price of one) you can get access to all of these things for 30 days totally free.

The book selection includes JK Rowling's full Harry Potter series as well as big names like Jeffrey Archer and Sara Cox and the magazine selection has everything from golf to gaming titles as well as the kind of posh foodie and home decorating guides that I'd flick through in the shops but never spend £7 a time on, making this is a great-value way to lose yourself while reading.

What's more, you can download the Kindle app to your phone or tablet so you don't even need to buy one of Amazon's discounted e-readers to indulge.

Watch Premiership games for free

Prime Video has over the last few years become a streaming staple as the home of some cracking exclusive TV series. In our house we are currently finishing binge watching The Boys spinoff Gen V while waiting impatiently for the next series of the brilliant Reacher.

But it's not just TV and films you can watch while trying Prime for free. The streaming service has increasingly picked up sports rights for some of the most exciting games and tournaments in the world and, as Premiership fans know, December is pretty much the peak of English football coverage.

Prime Video is showing 20 Premiership games throughout December including some big-hitting derbies. You can see the full list here and see all of the details you need to watch the Premier League on Amazon Prime here.

Go to the cinema for free

If you want to take your TV watching to the even bigger screen then Prime Video has you covered for that too. Prime members can get free cinema tickets to early screenings of Amazon original films and series with Prime Premiere. This includes a ticket for yourself and one guest, plus free concessions and special giveaways.

Most recently fans got a sneak peek of the Bond-themed game show 007: Road to a Million at the cinema for one night only, but new titles are added regularly and for culture vultures it's a great way to get early access to films and TV shows they'd usually be waiting for impatiently at home.

Get your takeaway delivered free

Fancy a Friday night takeaway? If you love ordering in, another benefit to your Amazon Prime subscription is free Deliveroo Plus for a whole year which means unlimited free delivery on orders over £25 from restaurants and takeaways.

Deliveroo normally charges from £3.49 a month for this delivery service so this perk could see you saving around £40 a year. Prime members also get food delivery service Amazon Fresh included in their subscription, where they can enjoy free delivery on orders over £40 which, when many major supermarkets charge delivery passes for home delivered, again is a saving that can soon add up.

Get extra discounts on things you were going to buy anyway

Picking up a Black Friday bargain and wanting to save another 15% on top of the discount? In that case you should consider signing up for Subscribe and Save. Subscribe and Save allows you to schedule repeat orders for things you use regularly and would need to remember to replace and, for signing up in this way Amazon will give you an extra discount on your purchases.

The process is totally flexible and you get an email reminder before each delivery so if you don't need it you can cancel or push back the sale.

From skincare heroes to nappies or pet food, you can get extra money off anything you might need regularly - even things you might not expect.

For example, one surprise Amazon early Black Friday bestseller is this box of 71 bars of chocolate reduced down to a bargain £13.12 or less than 19p a bar. But if you want to save even more you can get an extra 5% off by signing up for Subscribe and Save, even if you cancel it after. Save us a Toffee Crisp.

Amazon Prime normally costs £8.99 a month but you can sign up for a free 30-day trial and once signed up you'll instantly gain access to all the Prime benefits, including many of the ones above. Just remember to cancel your trial before the thirty days are up and you won't be charged.
