KFC fans devastated as much-loved burger is axed from menu

Christmas season has well and truly begun, with several fast food chains launching their festive menus - but KFC fans have been left devastated by the lack of one burger in particular.

KFC launched its Christmas menu for 2023 on November 13, featuring two mouthwatering, limited edition burgers - The Stuffing Stacker Burger and The Stuffing Tower Burger. But that wasn't enough to draw attention away from the fact that one iconic festive treat was absent.

The gravy burger was first launched in 2020 - and people went wild for it. The indulgent burger featured an Original Recipe chicken fillet, topped a layer of gravy mayonnaise, a slice of melted cheese and a hash brown "gravy boat" for pouring gravy onto. The hash brown gravy boat was specially designed to hold the good stuff - what more could you want?

The gravy burger was the perfect festive addition

It was the perfect festive burger, and has been a staple in the fast food chain every December since - so it was no surprise fans were eagerly awaiting its return this year. But unfortunately, the burger has been axed to make way for the two new editions - and people aren't happy.

In a statement to the Metro, KFC shared: "Last Christmas we gave you a Gravy Burger, but the very next year, we sent it away. This year, to save you from tears, we'll give you something more special." But not everyone agreed with that statement.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one fan demanded: "We need the gravy burger back." Another agreed, adding: "Bring that gravy burger back! I beg!" A third shared: "Praying for KFC gravy burger this crimbo."

KFC recently asked followers for their favourite orders at the fast food chain, with multiple people asking for the gravy burger to be added as a permanent fixture to the menu.

One person begged: "Pretty please keep the gravy burger as a permanent fixture on the menu." Another said their favourite was the "burger with the hole inside it and gravy in it".

This isn't the only fast food item to have been axed this year, causing widespread grief. McDonald's released its festive menu on November 22, including a Galaxy Caramel Pie. While we loved it, many were sad that the much-loved Festive Pie had been axed.
