Greggs fans are in for a treat, as the bakery chain has released its festive sweet Christmas menu nationwide.

A range of sweet treats will be joining the Christmas range, which already includes a return of the Festive Bake and the brand new vegan Spicy Vegetable Curry Bake. A whole host of favourites from old sweet Christmas menus will be returning - so let's take a dive into what they’ve got in store for us.

The millionaire-style Christmas Shortbread Bites (£1.70), ginger and chocolate Christmas Tree Biscuits (£1.15) and seasonally-decorated Christmas Buns (£0.95 or four for £3) will all be on the menu. Greggs will also offer the sugar-sprinkled Chocolate Star Biscuit, Christmas Cake Slice and Christmas Chocolate Cake Bar.

But perhaps the most exciting of all is a brand-new addition on offer - the £1.40 Orange Chocolate Muffin, a rich, 321-calorie celebration of the unbeatable combination of orange and chocolate. It will be topped with milk chocolate and orange-flavoured chunks and will have a chocolate orange-flavoured saucy centre.

It comes after Greggs’ recent announcement that they will be throwing Christmas parties this season called "Greggs presents: The Festive Rewind" in which they have special guest appearances from “icons across the decades” in Glasgow, Birmingham and London.

After kicking off in Glasgow on 30th November with a “Bake to the 80s” revival with Spandau Ballet bassist and Eastenders actor Martin Kemp, the series will then move onto its “Bake to the 90s” event on Friday 8th December - with dance-music powerhouse and record label Hedkandi.

Finally, the series finally will see H and Claire from Steps special-guesting in the “Bake to the 00s” event on Friday 15th December. It promises to be a large celebration of the release of the final pieces of Greggs’ Christmas menu.

The sweet menu follows on from their first release of Christmas menu items, including the chicken, sage and onion stuffing Festive Bake, the Christmas Lunch Baguette with chicken breast, bacon, onion gravy, cranberry and onion relish with melted cheese, the Turkey-Free Baguette, Christmas Lunch Soup and the Spicy Veg Curry Bake.

But this menu release caused controversy - after Greggs failed to include the vegan version of the Festive Bake which it offered in 2021 and 2022. They said they chose to add the Spicy Veg Curry Bake instead to “add a little spice to the festive season”.

It comes alongside fan-favourite drinks such as Mint Hot Chocolate, Salted Caramel Latte, and Orange Hot Chocolate. And, of course, what would a Christmas menu be without Santa’s favourite: Mince Pies.
