I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of here! star Jamie Lynn Spears is the little sister of Britney Spears – but she stopped short of telling her fellow campmates that.
During last night’s debut episode of the ITV show, Jamie Lynn was filmed having a chat with This Morning host Josie Gibson – but so far she hasn’t name dropped her famous sibling who has spawned huge hits like Baby One More Time and Oops... I Did It Again. When Josie asked: “What got you into music then?” Jamie Lynn, who is a singer and actress herself, replied: “I’ve always kind of been into music, you know what I mean.” Josie then followed up with: “Very musical family aren’t you.”
Remaining tight lipped, Jamie Lynn casually replied: “Yeah,” as Josie continued: “Was your grandma into it?” as Jamie Lynn revealed her mum played the piano a lot. But fans were left baffled by her non-mention of Britney and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to vent their frustration.
Jamie Lynn is known in camp as 'Britney Spears' sister', but has so far not named her famous sibling (ITV)One said: “Why doesn’t Jamie Lynn be honest and say she’s famous simply because she’s Britney’s Spears’ sister! It’s like the elephant in the room!” Another wrote: “Why is Jamie Lynn Spears avoiding Britney talk on #ImACeleb.” A third fan commented: “’What got you into music’ Faaaaackinellll my ears hurt hearing that question being asked to BRITNEY SPEARS’ SISTER #ImACeleb.” A fourth chimed in: “My name is Jamie Lynn Spears and I’m best known for being an actor and singer. Is that Mississippi for Britney Spears’ sister?” While a fifth added: “Josie was DYING to ask her questions about Britney Spears hahha #ImACeleb.”
While Jamie Lynn was keeping schtum, her fellow celebrity campmates certainly knew who she was. Hollyoaks star Nick Pickard said: “I had no idea when I woke up this morning I’d be skydiving with Britney Spears sister.” Later on former EastEnders star Danielle Harold fan girled: “It’s just mad. I’m with Britney Spears’ sister. I used to watch Zoey 101 when I came home from school, so it was a bit weird, a bit random.”

While it is not required by their contract to speak to journalists ahead of starring on the show, it is incredibly rare for a celebrity to not do so. A TV source told the Mirror: "It is disappointing Jamie Lynn wouldn't speak to journalists out in . She kept her head down at Brisbane airport which is fair enough after a long flight, but it is highly unusual to not take part in the media chats whilst waiting to go into camp this week.
"In fact, it is almost unprecedented and even took part last year when he has rarely done interviews for a decade. The last contestant we can remember to refuse to do the pre show interviews was David Gest, and that was back in 2006. It is not a great sign if you are hoping Jamie Lynn is going to be hugely talkative on the show and give up lots of goss about Britney. Hopefully she finds her voice in camp."
