Former TOWIE star Megan McKenna has shared a health update to fans after finally returning home following an emergency dash after "severe pain".

The singer was left with "complications" following a routine procedure, but has finally been able to return home where she's revealed she's being looked after by her footballer fiancé Oliver Burke.

Sharing the update via her Instagram Stories, Megan uploaded a makeup-free selfie from her bed as she wrote: "Finally back home after a week in hospital... I'm feeling so much better but very fragile & have had a migraine for 2 days so I have a hot water bottle on end & a cold block the other."

She continued: "Need to take it easy now & get myself 100% for Christmas! Thank you for your messages your all so sweet. Not well enough to be cooking up a storm yet but hopefully this week I can ease into it! Also, Oli put up the Xmas trees last night so our home looks all Christmassy! xoxo."

Earlier this week the star was rushed to hospital in severe pain which left her unable to move following a routine procedure. The emergency hospital trip came just four days after she underwent the procedure, with the country singer revealing to fans that she was admitted into hospital on Friday. In an Instagram update she explained: "Hello, I know I told you all I was recovering last week, I had a small procedure in my belly last Monday which has led to some complications inside... It's very painful & so uncomfortable to move. It got worse Thursday and was admitted to the hospital Friday.

"All the nurses are so lovely. So I'm in good hands. Miss cooking my dinners and sharing with you all. Just need some good energy put out for me please so I can be better to put up my tree and cook cute winter dinners."

The star then shared a later update in the week with devoted fiancé Oli by her side as the pair cuddled up in her hospital bed to watch TV on a laptop. The pair, who got engaged earlier this year after a five-month romance, looked cosy with Megan captioning the snap: "POV: when he comes & sits with you all day every day until you feel better."
