90s kids are getting emotional reminiscing about their old school lunch boxes

People have been reminiscing about their old school lunchboxes online and delving into some deep nostalgia that brings them back to their primary school days.

We all remember the excitement of going out and buying a brand new pencil case and lunchbox with a matching water bottle before heading back to school for the new term - and what you picked generally followed the trends and was cool at the time.

Now looking back on different designs from bright colours to ones with hidden snack compartments, people have been getting emotional while remembering what they used to proudly bring to school every day - and they're a far cry from what children will use today.

A woman on X (formerly known as Twitter) named Melissa, started a thread back sharing a photo of her Nineties lunch box. She wrote: "90s kids, do you remember what lunch box you had? A lot of us in the office had THIS beauty." Alongside this, she shared a photo of a bright orange Forever Friends box and bottle. Her post quickly went viral, garnering over 4,200 likes and this prompted others to follow suit and take their own walk down memory lane.

'I don't want children staying up late at weekends - I really need adult time'

Many people flocked to the comments to share their old lunchboxes and delve into their childhood memories, stirring up a wave of nostalgia. A user named Fiona replied: "YES, I had this one! I also had a Barbie love heart one and when I got my first boyfriend aged seven, we used to say 'I packlunchbox you'."

Meanwhile, a woman named Emily shared a snap of her old Country Companions lunch box, which she thought was better than the Forever Friends one. Other lunch boxes feature images from My Little Pony Jurassic Park, Disney's Pocahontas, S Club 7, Tweenies, Bang On The Door/Groovy Chic, Rainbow Brite, Care Bears and Snoopy.

A user named Fliss responded, saying her her Groovy Chic lunch box was so popular at school that "people had to write their names on to stop them getting mixed up".
