Strictly fans left speechless over star's real age as she marks birthday on air
Janette Manrara marked a milestone birthday live on Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two this evening.
The Strictly Come Dancing professional turned host was joined by the likes of Nigel Harman and Katya Jones and Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell ahead of the much anticipated Blackpool weekend for the BBC One Latin and ballroom show.
Janette was just about to present the segment on the Strictly star's outfits alongside Vicky Gill when she was surprised with a cake and a video from her loved ones as she marks a milestone birthday today. She couldn't believe it as she was shown a video from her family and friends, led by her husband Aljaž Škorjanec and their new baby daughter.
Janette was surprised by her husband Alijaz and their baby daughter (BBC)Janette was joined by Bobby, Dianne, Nigel, Katya and Vicky, who all wore party hats as they marked her birthday. A cake was rolled out on the trolley with a big '40' on it, before they wished her a happy 40th birthday.
Alijaz made reference to her age too in a sweet video, where he admitted he shouldn't have said her age but did it anyway. Holding their baby's hand, he did the signature 'keep dancing' pose with her, leaving her emotional.

Fans rushed to congratulate Janette on her birthday, with one writing: "I would like to wish Janette Manrara a very happy 40th birthday she looks incredible she looks way younger I miss her as a strictly pro dancer Happy Birthday Janette." A second added on social media: "Happy birthday Janette! Loving the sparkly dessert trolley! #ITT #Strictly."
Janette marked a big birthday tonight (BBC)Janette is joined by former contestant Fleur East this year to host the Strictly spin-off. Janette returned to work on the show soon after the arrival of her daughter, telling The Mirror at the time: "It has not been confirmed or announced yet but if all goes well, then I’ll be back on the show at the end of September. It is a fast turnaround but it should be fine.
"I think it’s important to plough forward and when you’re a working mum, you have to adjust and find ways to make it work for you and the baby. I feel very fortunate that I work in a team who are so excited for me to become a mum and who are so supportive. They all want to babysit. It’s good to know, both as a woman and a mum, that I’m not expected to just stay at home – I can go back to work and everyone around me will help me make it work. In my head, I think I’ll be excited to get back to it."
