Married teacher held for rape after 'sex with boy, 11 in car outside his school'
A married teacher has been accused of rape after she had sex with an 11-year-old boy in a car outside his school, police say.
Alyson Cranick faces charges which include two first-degree counts of sexual assault plus three counts of risk of injury to a minor. The young boy was 11 and 12-years-old when she is alleged to have had the illegal two-month sexual relationship with him in 2022. It was first reported to police in September 2023.
State Police were told by the boy the pair "had sexual intercourse in her vehicle" at Horace Porter School, Connecticut. The minor said he "snuck out of his house on at least 14 occasions" at night to meet the 42-year-old.

And police discovered hundreds of flirtatious and sexual text messages between the pair.
NBC Connecticut reported it also revealed a bracelet was given to the boy by Cranick, which read 'BFFLWB,' or "Best Friends for Life With Benefits." The minor told State Police she waited for him at night or hid behind a bush at a neighbour's property.

Cranick turned herself into police on Tuesday and appeared at Rockville Court. She told authorities she did not initiate sexual contact and "downplayed any inappropriate reasoning for communicating" with the minor. She insisted she had only comforted the child because he was worried about family issues.

Smith High School in Mansfield. But she was sacked from the high school after the state finished the investigation.
Barbara Wilson, Interim Superintendent by Columbia School District, said in a statement: "It is with great regret that I must share this information with you today. As educators, we are entrusted to protect and educate all of our students. Maintaining appropriate faculty-student relationships and providing for the safety and wellbeing of our students at all times are critical."

Cranick often posts pictures of her family on social media (Facebook)Parents of school pupils were distraught at the news according to Eyewitness News 3. Cranick's parents were asked to pay 10 percent of the $500,000 bond. They wanted to take her back home to Pennsylvania, but were told by a judge, she cannot leave Connecticut.
The married mother of two often posts images of her son and daughter on social media. Wilson also told parents in a letter that if they had any worries they are "encouraged" to contact her, police, the state's Department of Children and Families.
She wrote: "My hope is that this horrific and appalling situation will not cast a shadow over the important work carried out by the Columbia School District's teachers and staff members, who provide an outstanding education and safe environment for our students every day."
