Strictly professional takes savage swipe at 'ridiculous' Bobby Brazier
Former Strictly Come Dancing star Brendan Cole has decided to wade in on the criticism Bobby Brazier received by judge Craig Revel Horwood, over his American Smooth performance.
The EastEnders actor,20, who is paired with professional dancer Dianne Buswell danced the American Smooth and although it was a hit with viewers and judge Anton Du Beke, it seems Craig was less than impressed. Craig, 58, told Bobby, who has managed to avoid the dance-off, that his performance was "let down" by his hands which he claimed lacked shape and looked "robotic." And Brendan agreed, saying that he found Craig's comments were "fair."
In a recent interview with Sky Bingo, he said: "I actually really liked Bobby’s number, but Craig’s feedback was fair. I think the number was really pretty. But his hands and arms do look ridiculous when he dances. There’s not the attention to detail that he needs that perhaps other people are bringing. I think the choreography was lovely and so was the theme, but if I was going to be critical, it did look a little bit like every other number he’s done."
However, judge Anton praised Bobby for having "divine lifts." He went on to say that it was the "nicest thing you’ve ever done, it was exquisite." But Bobby who is the son of Jeff Brazier and the late Jade Goody had a completely different view of his dance routine. After he came off the dance floor he told host Claudia Winkleman: "I don’t know what the American Smooth is, but that was lovely."
He then revealed that the routine was playing on his mind so much that he was thinking about it in his sleep. Bobby added: "I woke up one morning doing this", mimicking the moves. He added: "I woke myself up doing that! And the week before, the person that I shared a bed with, I turned…" On realising what he was saying, Dianne started to laugh while Claudia joked: "Who wants to pull on that string? We’re going to halt it there."
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likenessBrendan was a regular on the BBC dance show since the beginning but was axed in 2018 after bosses decided to not renew his contract. But this is not the first time Brendan has had a few choice words for this year's Strictly contestants. Speaking on the judges scores being unfair earlier this month, He said: "We haven't yet seen many American Smooths this season. He (Adam Thomas ) scored, seven, eight, nine and eight from the judges. A nine was too high for that dance."
He continued: "It was a good number and he danced it very well. There were a few marks that were in my opinion slightly off. Three 10’s for Ellie’s number closing the show, it was a great number but it wasn’t a 10! 10’s at this stage, just too early, no-one is perfect, and it can always be a little better. "
He continued: "Leyton (Williams) and Nikita (Kuzmin) did a fantastic number, but it wasn’t 10’s because it wasn’t perfect. But you can’t compare what Leyton did with what Ellie (Leach) did, I think Leyton was better even though technically it wasn’t perfect but then neither was Ellie's."
