This Morning stars break silence on Josie Gibson's I'm A Celeb stint
This Morning has broken their silence on Josie Gibson joining I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! as she shared an emotional pre-recorded message on Tuesday's episode.
Opening the show, host Rylan Clark said: "She's so nervous but I think she's going to be brilliant!" while co-host Cat Deeley added: "She's so brave!" Rylan, 35, continued: "I think I speak for everyone here when I say we are so excited to watch her in the jungle, it's going to be gold!"
The ITV chat show then aired a pre-recorded video message from Josie, 38, outside Heathrow Airport before jetting to Australia. Josie said: "Hello you guys, so the rumours are true! I am heading to the jungle.... just arrived at Heathrow Airport now. I have said an emotional goodbye to Reggie [her son] and I keep thinking to myself: 'What have I done? What have I signed up for?'
"I'm just hoping that I am a survivor but thank you for all your support! I just hope I get through this because I cannot stand creepy crawlies, I don't like heights, I don't like rats and I don't like snakes... so wish me luck!" Rylan and Cat also spoke about co-star Rochelle Humes' husband Marvin Humes joining the ITV show too.
Josie will be joined by ex-politician Nigel Farage, 59, jockey Frankie Dettori, 52, ex-EastEnder Danielle Harold, 31, First Dates star Fred Sirieix, 51, and Made In Chelsea's Sam Thompson, 31, plus plenty of others - and they're all dreading the day the grub runs out.
TOWIE's Chloe Brockett makes cheeky dig at Saffron Lempriere during filmingDealing with hunger pangs may be a little easier for Josie, who has been coaching herself in the build-up to the latest series. She said in a pre-show interview: "I have never let myself get so hungry before that I have been 'hangry'. People might have to calm me down but I have been trying to build up my endurance and stamina in the run up to this."
Josie, who says Dawn French would be her ideal camp-mate, says she is most looking forward to "being at one with nature" and is happy to "give it a go" despite admitting she hates so much about what the experience infamously throws at its star-name guests.
The instantly likeable 38-year-old was the third star to jet in to take part in I'm A Celebrity but she tried to pull the wool over the Mirror's eyes when quizzed at Brisbane airport. Josie joked that she was Down Under for a weight loss retreat. she said: "I'm really excited to be here in Australia, I have never been here before. What am I scared of? I'm here for a weight loss retreat so I don't know what you're talking about."
