Manchester United have confirmed that Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen will be sidelined after picking up injury issues.

The pair will therefore be unavailable for international selection in what is a blow to Denmark. Both men sustained their issues during the narrow victory over Luton at Old Trafford at the weekend, which was the final Premier League match before the international break.

United's next assignment is a trip to Everton on November 26 before a crunch Champions League clash at Galatasaray - which could come too soon for both men, although Hojlund's diagnosis is set to return before his compatriot.

A club statement read: "Both were flagged as doubts for their international duties by Erik ten Hag, following our 1-0 win over Luton Town on Saturday, when the manager was keeping his fingers crossed that they would not be out for too long.

"Eriksen made way for Mason Mount in the first half at Old Trafford, while Hojlund initially continued playing after receiving treatment late on. The striker was then replaced by Anthony Martial in the final moments of a victory that leaves the Reds in sixth place in the Premier League table heading into this latest break.

"Christian has a knee injury that is set to keep him out for around a month, while striker Rasmus suffered a muscle strain. It is hoped he will return before the end of November."

Erik ten Hag has already seen his squad be hit heavily by injuries this season and the Danish duo join the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Jonny Evans and Casemiro who are all currently sidelined.

Denmark will have to deal without two of their most influential players for matches against Slovenia and Northern Ireland. The Dane have already qualified for the Euros next summer, but are battling with Slovenia for top spot in the group.

Danish boss Kasper Hjulmand has called Napoli midfielder Jesper Lindstrom and Trabzonspor's Jens Stryger Larsen into his squad as replacements.
