Israel Adesanya couldn't help but laugh when Alex Pereira called him out after UFC 295 by saying "come to daddy".

Pereira became a two-weight world champion this past weekend by knocking out Jiri Prochazka in New York. The Brazilian controversially stopped Prochazka in the second round with a string of elbows and Prochazka didn't protest the finish despite many fans believing the fight was stopped too soon.

Former middleweight champion Adesanya was called out for a trilogy fight with Pereira in MMA after the Brazilian's light-heavyweight title win.

He said: "I'm not the type of guy to call people out but there is a guy that back in the day said that I was going to be someone who stayed in a bar.

"That motivated me and he rescued me from a bar to be here today, That guy said he says he wants to come back in 2027, I think it’s a waste of talent so I want to rescue him too and come back to fight. It's a guy that I have a history with so hey Adesanya, come to daddy."

Adesanya lost twice to Pereira in kickboxing before crossing over to MMA in 2017, also losing his UFC middleweight belt to 'Poatan' last November. Adesanya finally got a win over Pereira in April to reclaim his world title and a trilogy fight between the pair in MMA has been called upon by fans.

"The fact that it sits with him. It hurts his spirit, I like it,' Adesanya said on his YouTube channel. "He did it. Same arena, getting that belt again. I think Jamahal Hill is probably next for him, but I know for a fact it hurts his spirit, which I like. It's all good, what did he say 'Come to daddy?' last time I checked, you were f****ng slept."

Adesanya seemingly joked that he won't be fighting until 2027 after losing his middleweight title to in September. 'The Last Stylebender' went unbeaten in his first 20 professional MMA fights but is now 1-2 in his last three. During his reign as 185lb champion, Adesanya was one of the most active champions in the UFC as he defended his title five times in just over two years.
