Kate Middleton regularly takes early morning outings to give herself some inner nourishment, a book claims.

Princess of Wales, 41, makes the solo ventures to and around museums, galleries and other London attractions to "nourish her inner life," according to The Palace Papers by Tina Brown.

Even members of the Royal family try to have some semblance of private time and space, the publication says, and it is believed Kate finds her's first thing in the morning with few members of the public about.

The book details, though, times when the mum of three has been busted, including at the David Hockney exhibition at the Royal Academy.

But the princess is believed to particularly enjoy the museums and galleries across London, having studied Art at the University of St Andrews.

And, when the member of the public who had also been at the early morning Royal Academy exhibit saw her, Kate is believed to have said: "I miss my history of art. It’s what I do to get my fix."

Kate, who grew up in Bucklebury, Berkshire, graduated from the redbrick university with a 2:1 in 2005. She met William during her time at University of St Andrew's, the oldest of the four ancient universities of Scotland.

Kate's family is also interested in art, it is understood. Kate drew the cover of the order of service for her sister Pippa's wedding with James Matthews in 2017.

The image of St Mark's Church was praised by the groom, who said in his wedding speech, "to Pippa’s sister Kate, such ability – a beautiful drawing of St Mark’s church in the order of service." Since then, Kate has done work in the arts, including selecting photos in 2018 for the National Gallery's Victorian Giants: The birth of art photography exhibition.
