Bukayo Saka limped out of Arsenal’s Champions League win - and was then told to get used to being kicked.

Saka scored and provided an assist for Leandro Trossard as Arsenal took a big step towards reaching the knock-out stages. But Saka went off injured before the end having got some rough treatment from Sevilla defenders all night.

However, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta insisted Saka will always have to put up with being fouled because opponents are so determined to stop him. When asked whether Saka was born ready for tough challenges, Arteta said: “Born? I think he's getting used to it!

“I don't think that's going to change, especially with the way he plays and the way he attracts players so he better get used to it because I don't think it's going to change.

“There's contact in football and obviously for the wingers who want to take people on this is going to happen. At the end he wasn't comfortable to carry on, hopefully it's not too much but I'm really pleased with his performance.”

Arteta is hoping he will be fit to face Burnley on Saturday which would also mean he can be named in the England squad on Thursday. He added: "It was just a kick and I was told by the physios on the radio he wasn't happy to continue,” said Arteta. “So he will have some discomfort but hopefully I am going to assume he will be OK.”

Arteta also praised the all round performance as Arsenal now need just to beat Lens in their next game to clinch qualification.

The Spaniard added: “For sure, I'm really happy with the performance from the team. They showed the aggression and commitment.

"Even when we lost the ball we were incredibly good to get it back. It's hard in Europe to control it how we did. That's why we won it.”
