Richard and Judy 'deeply upset' as daughter Chloe reunites with James Haskell
Chloe Madeley's parents have been left "deeply upset" by her recent split from James Haskell, according to inside reports.
The 36-year-old, who is the daughter of TV hosting duo Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, confirmed last month that her marriage had come to an end after five years. Chloe wed the former England rugby player in 2018 in a lavish ceremony in Berkshire, after first meeting for a business arrangement in 2014. They began dating the following year and in August 2022, they welcomed their first child together, daughter Bodhi.
The news of their separation has particularly affected Chloe's famous parents, who had always reportedly had a good relationship with their son-in-law.
"They adore James but they want to see their daughter happy and they could see the cracks appearing for a long time,” the source told new!. It's understood that Richard and Judy, who tied the knot in 1986, had always hoped their daughter would also enjoy a long-lasting marriage. "They’ve had a very strong marriage and wanted the same for Chloe," the insider added.
It's appears unlikely that Chloe will change her mind about the separation, however, with the source claiming that she "has had enough" after tolerating a multitude of issues in the marriage. It's understood that James's new career as a DJ in Ibiza had been a strain on their relationship, especially in light of the birth of their daughter. Chloe admittedly became particularly frustrated after seeing photos of him with other women on the party island, leaving her feeling both disrespected and enraged.
TOWIE's Chloe Brockett makes cheeky dig at Saffron Lempriere during filming"He's on Instagram uploading videos and photos of all these girls and I was like I will kill you, I will fly to Ibiza and kill you," she revealed on their ITVX reality show, Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair. "He posted videos of him loads of girls in thongs 'cos he thinks that it like makes him look cool on social media. I'm like, 'you're a k*** and you make me look like a k***. Stop doing it.'"
James was quick to defend his antics on the Spanish island, insisting that Chloe misunderstands the nature of his job in entertainment. 'My wife thinks DJing in Ibiza is a holiday - it's work," he explained.
The podcast host did concede, however, that the fitness expert had been generally "very supportive" of his musical ventures and admitted that "extending your trip for a few extra days is probably taking the p*** a little bit."
It has also been rumoured that Richard Madeley, was so unimpressed with James's shenanigans abroad that he even planned to confront him about it. "Richard especially isn't happy at all with the way James has been conducting himself," they revealed. "He's going to be having words with him about his behaviour."
